Change Product Key Office 2013 Home and Business

Hi CE-EE,

Thanks for what seems to be the most helpful information provided on this post to help solve this ridiculous problem. 

When I run the cscript command and I enter the product code I want to change to I get an error message (0xc004f069) saying that the product SKU cannot be found. If I run it using the product code I used to install (the incorrect product code) it seems to run fine, but that does nothing for me as I want to change the code to a new one. Perhaps I am missing something?

Thanks for providing help on this forum when it seems more people are asking questions than giving answers and some are in denial that perhaps Microsoft doesn't even know its own program. I definitely do NOT get an option to change the product key in the Programs and Features menu of uninstall.

When I run this I get "product SKU not found error".

Please help.

I have the same issue with trying to activate Microsoft Office 2013.  I have three keys and am not sure what the key on this particular machine is.

When I run script to find last 5 digits they don't match any of the keys I have.

When I run the script you suggest to change the key....I get the product Sku not found error!

 

I am at my wits end.

The first thing to point out is that the "product keys" you have recorded (and are trying to match up) are not product keys at all, they are "pin numbers".

When you thought you were typing a "product key" into https://officesetup.getmicrosoftkey.com/ , you were actually typing a "pin number" which gets converted into a product key at the installation stage. This is very confusing, because the "key cards" I was sent in the retail package clearly say "product key" on them. There is no relationship between the "pin numbers" and the "product keys" within the portal.

It IS possible to view the (actual) product keys within the portal, but there is a trick to doing this. I have made some notes in my blog as to how you can do this: http://practicalsbs.wordpress.com/2014/04/29/tracking-multiple-product-keys-within-the-office-2013-portal/

If you comparte THOSE product keys to the ones you have obtained from the workstation using the "ospp.vbs" script (shown in an earlier post), you should be able to match them up.

I did as you described.

But after I entered the product-key and loged in with our Microsoft-account

it asked me to select one of our Office-licenses from a list.

I can't see which of them belongs to the correct product-key (see images below)

Office is installing in the Background (100%) - ready, box disappeared

Enter product key

add this key to an account (it was already added, but ok ...)

activate Office - enter email-address

Login with Microsoft-account

select your product from the list

we've got about 50 Office-products unter this account (most of them home+business)

Any idea?

After this I uninstalled Office, rebooted, installed it from a downloaded DVD-Image.

I entered the product-key, logged in and got the same list "select your product" (see above)

So I tryed to change the product-key with ospp.vbs - and got the same error "SKU is not found"

• We have got about 50 licenses of Office 2013 home&business under the same Microsoft-account.
• The product-keys, that are displayed at office.com/Setup "Install from a disk - view your product key" are different to the product-keys on the product-key-cards
• I installed any of the 50 Office-licenses from office.com/Setup and tryed to change the product-key
• There is no option to change the product-key of Office 2013 home&business in the control-panel "program and features" or in Word/Excel "file - account"
• The commandline-Program "cscript ospp.vbs /inpkey:9NJHW-...."

displays the following error:

So Microsoft - is there a way to install Office 2013 home&business with the correct product-key, if I needed to reinstall one of our computers?

Have you tried the steps below? It doesn't give you the option to change the product key until the very last steps.

Open Control Panel

Open Programs and Features

Highlight Microsoft Office 2013

Click Change

Select Online Repair

Click Repair

Click Repair in the pop up box

After it is done repairing

Close the Control Panel

Down in the system tray should be an Office 2013 logo. When you click on it, I says "Office is installing in the background (xx%) You can use your programs now, but please don't go offline or restart your computer."

Wait for the install to complete and this box disappears.

Start any Office program

A "Activate Office" box will pop up

Midway down Click "Enter a product key instead"

Enter your new product key

Click Install.

To check that it was done correctly, Open any Office program. Go to File. Click Account. In the window to the right it should say "Product Activated"
