I need to change the product key on a new installation of Office 2013 Home and Business. What is the procedure?

    Hi

    If you choose the "online repair" option ..

    It will go away and download some files ,

    Then when you open office, you will be invited to sign in, OR ENTER A PRODUCT KEY INSTEAD ..

    Here you can enter your new product key

    This is turning out to be way too complicated... All you have to do is the following:

    1. Go to Control Panel
    2. Select Programs and Features (or Add/Remove Programs)
    3. Find whatever 2013 installation you are dealing with, and select Change
    4. You get 4 options, the last one being Enter a Product Key.  Select this one and hit next.
    5. Put in your key
    6. Eat Cake & Ice Cream

    • Click on the button to open the Start Menu. Now, click on the Control Paneland then click on Programs (Uninstall a program), and finally click on Program and Features.

    (Windows XP users: Start > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs.)

    • From the list of installed programs, find Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2010 (or your installed version of Office 2010 or Office 2013) or Microsoft Office Visio Professional 2010 (or your installed version of Visio 2010), which ever’s key you want to change, select it and then click on Change.
    • From the newly opened dialog box, select the Enter a Product Key option, and then click Continue.
    • Type your new product key and check the option that says Attempt to automatically activate my product online to automatically activate your Office 2013 or Office 2010 suite. Now click on Continue and then on Install Now.

    The versions of Office 2013 I have used at work and at home didn't provide the option to Enter a Product Key after clicking on Change.  The versions I have at work didn't even provide a Change button (installed on Win 7 Pro).  They simply had the option to remove.  I'd attach a picture, but the only available options are Quick Repair and Online Repair for my 2013 Professional after clicking on Change (installed on Win 8 Pro).  The commands I listed above worked for me, though. 

    What happened??!!! i pressed quick repair and the trial or whatever it was vanished from my programme list and I have to give payment info again in the microsft office section so that i can download it again. What the **** is going on here?
