I’m having problems installing Office, how do I fix this?

Do you know the exact error you’re getting?

Depending on the error or the problem, there are different steps you can take and there are Microsoft articles that can help. For example:

If you get an error that contains “integratedoffice.exe”, look at this article: Fix integratedoffice.exe install errors in Office 2013 or Office 365.

If the installation is hanging at different percentages, look at this article: Microsoft Office 2013 or Office 365 hangs during setup.

If the download is very slow, look at this article: Downloading Office 2013 is slow.

    Well, via Microsoft online help, I was connected to a company to fix the install.  Company name is Omni Tech Support.

    I am in the same boat as everyone else with not being able to install Office 2013.  In my case I am using the click to run installer from our local file server.  I did the download just fine but the configure doesn't work at all.  I just get the something went wrong error!  This is ridiculous, we pay a lot of money each month to Microsoft to have the Office 365 and this is what they release for an upgrade?  INSANE!  As an admin I should be able to at least be able to install it on computers!  I DIDN'T HAVE A CHOICE ON THIS UPGRADE FROM 2010 to 2013!  They just went ahead and did it!  And the error logging tells me next to nothing!  What the heck kind of error is Oops something went wrong?  Really?  I am sure the engineers trying to resolve are problems are having a fun time figuring them out when that's the error message!  Get your software fixed Microsoft BEFORE RELEASING IT AND USING YOUR PAYING CUSTOMERS AS GUINEA PIGS!

    Thanks this helped me. I struggled for 4 hours and finally uninstalled office 2013 and that did the trick.

    Absolutely getting no answer from Microsoft support that was worth anything, I went online and browsed Microsoft for Something, found a fixit and clicked on it.  The company, linked to Microsoft, is OmniTech.  And for a mere $249.00 they said they could fix the installation of Office 2013.  5 hours later they were still uninstalling, reinstalling, uninstalling, and finally got it right.  I also found out that they are very busy fixing Office, there seem to be install problems galore.  I am not endorsing the company, but they did a heck of a lot more than Microsoft.  

    This assumption by Microsoft that we are all as smart as they are, is to be a caution.  Based on the very large amount of Community "Help" questions, , Office has problems, and Microsoft is keeping very quiet about it.  Further, some of the PC magazine tekkies are not longer pushing Windows 8, suggesting that we cherish our Windows 7, and take very good care of our pc's.

    The biggest message i found from Microsoft (about 2 years old) was Buyer Beware.  That person suggested research and read ALL warranties before buying a program.  Excuse me?  Especially when I am having a problem. Whatever happened to Service, Integrity, and everything else I have grown to Depend on since Windows 95?  And for heavens sake, do not end service to XP.  Almost all business programs were written for XP. by XP.

    Now I am looking for the Help Menues I need to work with Office 2013.  Wish me luck.
