Problem with copy & paste in Excel 2010

I am running Excel 2010 on Windows 7. I am having a problem with the cut and paste command. This has worked OK for the few months I have been using the program, but the paste options have suddenly stopped working properly.  When I click on paste special, the only options shown are unicode text or text, with no explanation. When I copy and paste formulas, e. g. autosum,  it is not applying them properly to the selected cells, or it is just pasting the values of the copied cells. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Office Home and Business 2010, but the problem is still there. Any ideas?

Skype has released an updated version of the Click to Call browser add-on that should be free of the problem mentioned above.

If you want it, go to http://www.skype.com/intl/en-us/get-skype/on-your-computer/click-to-call/windows/ and click Download Now.

    I've been having this issue for about 3 - 4 weeks, and have finally narrowed it down to IE9 - in fact, it started around the time that windows updated IE to 9.  I've switched my default browser to Chrome and hid all shortcuts to IE9 2 days ago, and have not had the issue again.

    I too uninstalled Skype Click to Call, and lo and behold, that resolved my problem with copy/paste errors.  Who would have thought that would be the problem?!?!  Thanks for the solution.

    Barry at the top of this series of messages seems to have put the finger on the pulse. I encountered this problem for the first time ever this weekend after upgrading for the (paid) SKYPE premium service. after a long chat with a friendly SKYPE tech support purson, she assured me that the problem had nothing to do with SKYPE or SKYPE pro, BUT I always have my browser open and neveer had the problem. She downgraded my SKYPE service to the free basic level and guess what with or without browser my paste special function is working as it always did. it may be time for someone within MSFT and someone within SKYPE to have a cup of coffee and a serious conversation about how their products interact. For now, I will stay away from SKYPE Premium
