Problem with copy & paste in Excel 2010

I am running Excel 2010 on Windows 7. I am having a problem with the cut and paste command. This has worked OK for the few months I have been using the program, but the paste options have suddenly stopped working properly.  When I click on paste special, the only options shown are unicode text or text, with no explanation. When I copy and paste formulas, e. g. autosum,  it is not applying them properly to the selected cells, or it is just pasting the values of the copied cells. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Office Home and Business 2010, but the problem is still there. Any ideas?

Skype has released an updated version of the Click to Call browser add-on that should be free of the problem mentioned above.

If you want it, go to http://www.skype.com/intl/en-us/get-skype/on-your-computer/click-to-call/windows/ and click Download Now.

    Having the same problem with Office apps (Excel, Word and Outlook) but closing the browser restores the functionality.

    XP, office 2010,  IE 8.0,  Firefox 11.0

    Closing browser worked and resolved exact same problem for my user who has XP and Office 2007 but what is the permanent fix

    You are spot on when I close the browser it works, the details of my system are as follows:

    Windows 7 Home Premium

    Microsoft Office Home and Business 2010

    64 bit

    Yes, that's done it, closing the browser is the solution, and I am convinced that it is linked to the installation of the updates from 14th March.
