Something else you're failing to take into account is that I DO NOT WANT IT ON MY COMPUTER. I am not reinstalling it. I want it to GO AWAY PERMANENTLY.

Seriously, it's dug in like a tick. It continually makes itself the default program, even though I've told it not to be, both for individual documents and as the default for those file types. It's showing up in my list of programs in some places, but not in the section where it can be uninstalled -- because supposedly I already uninstalled it. Clearly enough pieces were left behind that it's triggering these warnings and forcing itself to be the default, but not enough that I can actually do anything about it.

Microsoft has a broken product, and you need to make an uninstaller that actually works. Stop trying to put it on the users who, in some cases, have paid you hundreds of dollars to use this software, but are being asked to go in and dig around in their computer registry (Careful! You could trash your computer!) as if it's an actual solution. There are also tens of thousands of customers out there who aren't reading this forum, some of whom barely know how to defragment their hard drive let alone alter their computer's registry safely.

UNinstall and reinstall does NOT work, I still have the same problem with no preview working either.

Did you try manually uninstalling Office 2013 from the computer and then try to reinstall it.

If no, lets  manually uninstall Office 2013 by following the section ’Manual steps to remove Microsoft Office 2013 MSI installations’ from the following article this will remove all the installed components of Office 2013/Office 365 from the computer.

Once the uninstallation is completed you may sign in to www.office.com/myaccount using the subscribed/registered email address, download and install Office from my account page and verify the status.

This is a known issue and is generally not related to the installation of Office.  For 95% of people experiencing this, their Windows Explorer has a Preview Pane on.  If you turn this Preview Pane off, you will stop receiving these errors.
