Microsoft Office 2003 suites and applications aren’t compatible with Windows 8 (or Windows 8 Pro).

If you have Office 2003, it’s recommended that you upgrade to a newer version of Office to avoid any potential problems.

You should also go to the Windows Compatibility Center to see if the applications and devices on your PC are compatible with Windows 8.

    yes u can, load office as normal, (1) go to Apps, This PC on Windows 8.1 ,(2) go to Local Disc C,(3) go to program files (x 86)  number could be less or more,  (4) go to Microsoft office file, (5) go to Office 11

    (6) scroll down and find : Excel Application, right click and send to desktop do the same for word etc,

    actually they are. the only program that wouldn't was visio. if in doubt just run the compatibility check option.  i am running office pro
