Will Office 2003 work with Windows 8?

Never mind - figured it out. You just need to open Word with "Run as Administrator" once so it can set the right 'Accepted'  flag (presumably in the registry or in a hidden file somewhere). After that its fine.

I have windows 8 and a (legitimate) Office 2003. It works fine except for the EULA popping up every time. It sounds like you found a fix for that but I could not track it down. Could you provide a specific link (or specific instructions) for how to fix the EULA problem?

Some of us are stuck with outdated software.  We have an expensive proprietary software package that was written on top of Access from Office 2003.  The expensive software is no longer being updated, the company that produced it bought out, the software has been discontinued except for limited third party support .  We keep it limping along until we can find the $20K in the budget to replace it with something that runs on SQL. 

It all works reasonably well so we aren't in a hurry to replace it but it would be nice to have something more modern.  Unfortunately we are stuck with an older version of Office until then.

Just a quick update. I've been running Office 2003 on Win8 since January without any major issue. The only glitch so far is not being able to do 'send to' email on a file in a folder. But then, its just as simple to attach the file from Outlook.
