Microsoft Office 2003 suites and applications aren’t compatible with Windows 8 (or Windows 8 Pro).

If you have Office 2003, it’s recommended that you upgrade to a newer version of Office to avoid any potential problems.

You should also go to the Windows Compatibility Center to see if the applications and devices on your PC are compatible with Windows 8.

    YES, according to this solution and the fact that I have successfully used FrontPage 2003 with Windows 8.  I installed FrontPage 2003 first and then installed the Office 2003 Service Pack 3:

    P.S.:  I did not install the recommended updates along with SP3.

    You can install the application into Windows 8 and while you do that make sure you apply Service Pack 3 updates because initially the application will not work in the form it was installed. Use the built-in updater to apply updates. The necessary update is for Office 2003. Be sure to download that package.

    So it 'mostly' works once I got past the EULA issue. Minor problem with Outlook which is that autocomplete of addresses does not work. Maybe I'm hallucinating but I swear it worked up until a couple of weeks ago then suddenly stopped. The autocomplete list of addresses still comes up but when you hit tab or enter or select an item you only get what you actually typed - i.e. the partial name. Anyone else see this? Anyone have a workaround?

    Sadly - what you are describing is a downgrade not an upgrade.  Something as simple as adding new documents from the context menu, printing to file or using my beloved picture manager have gone the way of the dinosaur.  To me these are all huge backward steps.  Why is Microsoft in suc a rush to move us backwards?  Time to go bac to Word Perfect or has Corel done the same?
