Microsoft Office 2003 suites and applications aren’t compatible with Windows 8 (or Windows 8 Pro).

If you have Office 2003, it’s recommended that you upgrade to a newer version of Office to avoid any potential problems.

You should also go to the Windows Compatibility Center to see if the applications and devices on your PC are compatible with Windows 8.

    Hi. I'm about to buy a Win8 laptop & hoping to install my Office2003 on it. Is your Win8/Office2003 combo still working OK? Any problems at all? Thanks.

    Hi Gunsbi, no problems have come to light so far. See my previous post about getting Win8 automatic update working with Office 2003.  The office 2007 Compatability pack is available free from Microsoft Download Center. This enables read/write of newer format Office files from within 2003. Another post outlines that Office 2003 doesn't understand windows 7/8 Libraries, but this isn't a problem. You just have to use the underlying folder structure instead.

    As before - I'm no longer a heavy Office user, so I don't use many of the advanced features of Office.
