What replaces office picture manager in office 2013?

The Office Picture Manager has been a very quick and easy tool to use, built into Office and readily available no matter what machine I have to use.  I would rather not have to install 3rd party software to do what MS has made easy to do in the past.

Any word on what this app is called now and where it's hidden in the Office 2013 install?

The best workaround I've found is to use the free SharePoint Designer 2010 to bootstrap the MS Office Picture Manager.

You can get the SharePoint Installer from this post:

The short version is to run the installer.  

Then choose "Customize" instead of "Install Now".  

Then deselect everything that's not "Office Tools" > "Microsoft Office Picture Manager"

Hey John,

You are correct that Office Picture Manager was removed from the suite. Inside programs such as PowerPoint and Word there are still editing tools. You also have Windows Live Photo Gallery which I feel is a much more program specific picture editing tool. Hopefully the small change does not effect your trial of the Next Microsoft Office.

    Where can I find that feedback smiley? I don't see a smiley in the top tool bar.

    And no, the picture editing tools in Word or any other MS application do not replace Picture Manager. I used Picture Manager a lot to crop my pictures and than save those cropped pictures. I can crop in Word and so but when I try to save the cropped picture with "save picture as" not the cropped picture is saved but the original one. This s*cks.

    Me too, I want Picture Manager back!! I'm glad I didn't upgrade to 2013 yet at home. Not gonna upgrade until Picture Manager is included again in Office.

    Further on my earlier post, I would be interested to know what was the trigger for the decision to omit Picture Manager from Office 2013. Were there complaints from users? What drives these types of decisions?

    I asked this question three weeks ago. So far there has been no response. Just to clarify so that there is no confusion, this is a specific question that I am seeking to be answered by an appropriate person in Microsoft. My hope is that Microsoft monitors the content of the Microsoft Community. 

    When I buy a new version of an existing product, I expect to find that it's functionality would be maintained or hopefully even enhanced. I don't expect functionality to be reduced without good reason. I am trying to understand why Microsoft has decided to reduce functionality of its 2013 Office product.

    I posted the original question 6 weeks ago and the update three weeks ago. But still no response.

    I am starting to worry that no-one from Microsoft is reading this feedback. If not then there is very little chance that they will proactively respond to it!

    The omission of Picture Manager from Office 2013 is clearly a sore that is quickly becoming infected with disgruntled users. It needs some effective First Aid.
