What replaces office picture manager in office 2013?

The Office Picture Manager has been a very quick and easy tool to use, built into Office and readily available no matter what machine I have to use. I would rather not have to install 3rd party software to do what MS has made easy to do in the past.

Any word on what this app is called now and where it's hidden in the Office 2013 install?

The best workaround I've found is to use the free SharePoint Designer 2010 to bootstrap the MS Office Picture Manager.

The short version is to run the installer.

Then choose "Customize" instead of "Install Now".

Then deselect everything that's not "Office Tools" > "Microsoft Office Picture Manager"

Hey John,

You are correct that Office Picture Manager was removed from the suite. Inside programs such as PowerPoint and Word there are still editing tools. You also have Windows Live Photo Gallery which I feel is a much more program specific picture editing tool. Hopefully the small change does not effect your trial of the Next Microsoft Office.

I've just installed Office 2013 onto Windows 8 on a new laptop (dragged kicking and screaming from XP) and as if I wasn't already grumpy there's the rotten loss of MOPM to mourn. What the **** were Ms thinking to remove the non-nerds Photo Shop. I found it so easy and multi-faceted to use and you could achieve so many edits, crops and saves from 1 picture and all without leaving the one screen. Haven't Microsoft heard the old saw - IF IT AIN'T BROKE - DON'T FIX IT. I'll try the suggestions that some have made, to install Picture Manager from my XP disk but I'm a bit nervous on a new laptop that I'll have some conflict happen. WAKE UP MICROSOFT AND PUT PICTURE MANAGER BACK WHERE IT SHOULD BE AS A FREE DOWNLOAD.

I absolutely hate the new photo gallery picture editor! WHO pays these idiots to make such bad decisions. I am considering going away from 365 and office 2013 to go back to version that had the old picture manager. Or look for a 3rd party software. But then why should I keep paying extra money to MS if they don't deserve it. Dump monthly subscription of 365 and go find an older version sounds like a better possibility.

It use to be a piece of cake to resize a picture to use as a thumbnail and etc but now what a joke.

I agree totally, I despise 2013. Had I known that Picture Manager was not included I would not have purchased the software!
