What replaces office picture manager in office 2013?

The Office Picture Manager has been a very quick and easy tool to use, built into Office and readily available no matter what machine I have to use.  I would rather not have to install 3rd party software to do what MS has made easy to do in the past.

Any word on what this app is called now and where it's hidden in the Office 2013 install?

The best workaround I've found is to use the free SharePoint Designer 2010 to bootstrap the MS Office Picture Manager.

You can get the SharePoint Installer from this post:

Then, for more detailed instructions, you can follow the Guide Here:

The short version is to run the installer.  

Then choose "Customize" instead of "Install Now".  

Then deselect everything that's not "Office Tools" > "Microsoft Office Picture Manager"

Hey John,

You are correct that Office Picture Manager was removed from the suite. Inside programs such as PowerPoint and Word there are still editing tools. You also have Windows Live Photo Gallery which I feel is a much more program specific picture editing tool. Hopefully the small change does not effect your trial of the Next Microsoft Office.

    The omission of Picture Manager is just one of many annoying issues with the new product. I will purchase a third party product at extra cost.

    There is no dilemma.  As suggested many times previously in this thread simply just:

     

    1. Download SharePoint Designer 2010  (its free!!)

    2) Advanced install.  Only select Picture Manager

     

    (or just insert your Office 2010/2007 disc and advance install just picture manager)

    Mike thanx for your effort answering this post. It probably is no dilemna for you, but for me and 3 000 of my users, its big dilemna and quite an inconvenience. I would have preferrred to get Office 2013 with Picture Manager.

    We try and automate most of our OS deployment tasks, this creates additional work for us.

    For now, we will just add this as a manual post-deployment tasks, which is not really ideal.

    I agree with all those who replied that this is a very, very poor decision on Microsoft's part.  I also used Office Picture Manager as a default photo editor, especially for cropping and resizing.

     I am very disappointed.
