What replaces office picture manager in office 2013?

The Office Picture Manager has been a very quick and easy tool to use, built into Office and readily available no matter what machine I have to use.  I would rather not have to install 3rd party software to do what MS has made easy to do in the past.

Any word on what this app is called now and where it's hidden in the Office 2013 install?

The best workaround I've found is to use the free SharePoint Designer 2010 to bootstrap the MS Office Picture Manager.

The short version is to run the installer.  

Then choose "Customize" instead of "Install Now".  

Then deselect everything that's not "Office Tools" > "Microsoft Office Picture Manager"

Hey John,

You are correct that Office Picture Manager was removed from the suite. Inside programs such as PowerPoint and Word there are still editing tools. You also have Windows Live Photo Gallery which I feel is a much more program specific picture editing tool. Hopefully the small change does not effect your trial of the Next Microsoft Office.

    I recently replaced Office 2003 with 2013, but kept the old version on my computer. This worked fine for a while but for no obvious reason my computer started to associate my Excel files with the old version, and however I tried I was unable to get the association to be with the new version. This was a real nuisance as I had added in some new macros which weren't easily available to me in the old version. So I uninstalled Office 2003 and this solved my Excel problem. However it left me without Office Picture Manager which, like many other people posting on this site, I use as my basic picture editor - cropping, auto correcting etc. So I did a custom reinstallation of Office 2003, only installing Publisher. This gave me back Picture Manager, and therefore solved all my Office problems (so far) as the rest of the Office suite on my computer was 2013.

    Custom Install is the way to go, but you didn't actually have to install Publisher to get Picture Manager. You do have the option of installing just Picture Manager by itself. Look in the Office Tools option (as well as the publisher option).

    Can we buy just the Picture manager separately? I have had a really bad experience with Microsoft customer service just yesterday. It ytook hours and all kinds of rerouting calls with zero help.. Really really bad. Twhoever they outsourced it to in India is unitelligible and has zero understanding of what I was asking. Very disturbed and very upset buy it all deb
