What replaces office picture manager in office 2013?

The Office Picture Manager has been a very quick and easy tool to use, built into Office and readily available no matter what machine I have to use.  I would rather not have to install 3rd party software to do what MS has made easy to do in the past.

Any word on what this app is called now and where it's hidden in the Office 2013 install?

The best workaround I've found is to use the free SharePoint Designer 2010 to bootstrap the MS Office Picture Manager.

You can get the SharePoint Installer from this post:

Then, for more detailed instructions, you can follow the Guide Here:

The short version is to run the installer.  

Then choose "Customize" instead of "Install Now".  

Then deselect everything that's not "Office Tools" > "Microsoft Office Picture Manager"

Hey John,

You are correct that Office Picture Manager was removed from the suite. Inside programs such as PowerPoint and Word there are still editing tools. You also have Windows Live Photo Gallery which I feel is a much more program specific picture editing tool. Hopefully the small change does not effect your trial of the Next Microsoft Office.

    The two problems with Windows Live Photo Gallery now are:

    1. none of the easy to use options of Office Picture Manager
    2. I'ts Windows Live instead of a standard program. 

    (Trying to say this in a non-snarky sounding way.) Any chance that we can get some programs  that give us the options and ease of the old Office Suite.  Something that uses the same interface and buttons .

    I really, really, really hate the "apps" function of the new Windows.  To the point that I'm almost ready to return my new laptop so that I can get something that runs Windows XP, Vista, or even Windows 7.

    Windows 8 does nothing that I want to do, or used to do, any easier.  It offers me no options I want.  And it took away so much of what made Windows better than Apple.

    I feel like Windows 8 is trying to make my laptop and desktop into a tablet or Iphone.  I want a computer, not an Iphone.

    I've checked online for a good replacement for Picture Manager, but nothing seems to have the combination of features.  Using Picture Manager I could quickly edit 10 or 20 pictures/photos.  Now I spend a lot more time on projects like this.  I do have my old copy of Office 2010 and will try to install just the Picture Manager, as others have suggested here.  Or, maybe one of the "open office" products out there will have something.
