What replaces office picture manager in office 2013?

The Office Picture Manager has been a very quick and easy tool to use, built into Office and readily available no matter what machine I have to use.  I would rather not have to install 3rd party software to do what MS has made easy to do in the past.

Any word on what this app is called now and where it's hidden in the Office 2013 install?

The best workaround I've found is to use the free SharePoint Designer 2010 to bootstrap the MS Office Picture Manager.

You can get the SharePoint Installer from this post:

The short version is to run the installer.  

Then choose "Customize" instead of "Install Now".  

Then deselect everything that's not "Office Tools" > "Microsoft Office Picture Manager"

Hey John,

You are correct that Office Picture Manager was removed from the suite. Inside programs such as PowerPoint and Word there are still editing tools. You also have Windows Live Photo Gallery which I feel is a much more program specific picture editing tool. Hopefully the small change does not effect your trial of the Next Microsoft Office.

    Let MS know how you feel by going into a photo / edit area in PowerPoint or Word - selecting the smiley in the top toolbar and sending them a big frown regarding the lack of Picture Manager.  That form of feedback works for all of the areas of Office that you find feature gaps, or things you like.

    Where is this located?  I would like to do this, but cannot find a smiley on my screen.

    That's a lot of bull.  MS did NOT remove PM because of any bugs.  MS PM was a far superior picture editing and display application than anything MS has provided before or since.  I've been a heavy user of this application since I discovered it in Office 2003.  I've edited thousands of pictures with it and converted images from one format to another format.  Since PM was removed in 2013, I've been forced to install PM from the "Office tools" component of Office 2003 which is the only MS Office version I have a personal license for. 

    I used to edit all my digital photos with PM, but I also use it to convert bit mapped images (from Windows clipboard, for example), but it is even superior as a plain and simple photo viewing application.  It may be true that the Photo application in the current Windows systems, such as W10, are pretty good at displaying photos.  But they don't give you much control over the process. PM puts you in complete control of what photos you are viewing and lets you go quickly through all the picture images in any given folder.  The newer Photo app does some weird things.  Sometimes it badly distorts pictures and it seems to want to show you photos from where it wants to look for them rather than from where you want to look.

    I've tried, tried hard for years, to adjust to other picture viewers/editors, but there just aren't any that are adequate - at least not that are available on any system you happen to use.  That's the biggest problem for me.  I don't mind installing MS PM from Office 2013 on each new computer I get, but I can no longer expedt to find it on my friends' and relatives' computers if I want to help them with something.
