What replaces office picture manager in office 2013?

Can you please explain me how can I reduce the size of a picture that is originally 8mpx(3840*2160) to put in a document(800*600) with Windows Live Photo Gallery?

The only solution I've found was open it with Windows Photo Viewer, click on the button E-mail, that creates an E-mail with an attached picture... copy that attachment to a folder and delete the E-mail.

Before I had Office Picture Manager where I could do everything.

I’ve been following these threads on Office Picture Manager for quite a while now, ever since I threw in my gripes and complaints early last year after my company upgraded my software and my Picture Manager went away. I keep hearing you Microsoft guys throw solutions at us, like Power Point and Word.

You guys just don’t understand. There are a LOT of us screaming at you about this, and there’s more than likely a few hundred thousand more out there that have just not found these boards in order to complain. Unless you guys do what all of us do every day, you can’t begin to fathom how much we have come to rely on this little program.  Yes, there are obviously other programs out there we can use, but Picture Manager does what we need it to do so well and so fast. Why should we use anything else?

I’m a technical writer/illustrator, and I deal with photos and line artwork every single day creating operation and maintenance manuals for high-speed filling and capping equipment. The job is demanding and the tools I use to create manuals must be easy to use and produce results quickly. I don’t have the time to jump thru a bunch of hoops with other software that “does the same thing” when Picture Manager does it so much better and faster.

The predefined resize feature is an absolute Godsend, and I used it multiple times EVERY SINGLE workday. Picture Manager was my GO TO program to quickly and effectively resize my photos and line art from megabytes down to kilobytes in three mouse clicks. And the Brightness & Contrast feature is also very effective, especially the Midtone adjustment; a setting we don’t normally find in other programs unless we pay big bucks for them.

My line art consists of engineering drawings. Reducing electronic 22 x 34 TIF drawings from 4+ megs down to less than 1 meg while still retaining crispness and clarity is crucial. Picture Manager does this with three clicks. THREE CLICKS!!

Right now I’m struggling with other software to reduce my line art and photos with the same proficiency as I had with Picture Manager.

I don’t understand why Microsoft felt they needed to yank the program out to begin with. It doesn’t take up THAT much space. I thought Microsoft would have learning something about yanking Office tools after the Photo Editor debackle back a few years ago. There was such an uproar over that brilliant move that Photo Editor was finally offered as a free download to appease the mass of storming townspeople carrying pitchforks and torches.

Microsoft doesn’t need to mess with Picture Manager; doesn’t need to redesign it or try to “make it better.” You just need to put it back into office tools exactly the way it is now and then leave it alone. No changes. No upgrades. No “added features.”

That’s all any of us are asking. PLEASE, just put it back. We need to get our work done!!!!

Yes there are a lot of people about this decision. Even 3 years after 2013 was released.  The solution is marked as an answer on the first page. You can (for now at least) still get a free copy of "Picture Manager".

Your point is well written, but this is no longer the right place to be making it.  MS has set up a bunch subsites on the "UserVoice" forum specifically to take "suggestions" and feature requests from users. MS program managers area actively monitoring those forums.  There is already a request to bring Picture Manager back.  Copy your comment from above and paste it into a new comment on that suggestion.  Also Get everyone you know to vote for it.

Go to UserVoice, either through specific links I’ve provided or create your own suggestions there. That is where MS is looking specifically for this type of user feedback to bring them back to reality from what-ever lala-land they are working in when they make these "improvements".  Comments (and votes) like these in UserVoice helped to convince MS to roll back the "phat QAT" buttons in 2016.
