What replaces office picture manager in office 2013?

The Office Picture Manager has been a very quick and easy tool to use, built into Office and readily available no matter what machine I have to use.  I would rather not have to install 3rd party software to do what MS has made easy to do in the past.

Any word on what this app is called now and where it's hidden in the Office 2013 install?

The best workaround I've found is to use the free SharePoint Designer 2010 to bootstrap the MS Office Picture Manager.

You can get the SharePoint Installer from this post:

Then, for more detailed instructions, you can follow the Guide Here:

The short version is to run the installer.  

Then choose "Customize" instead of "Install Now".  

Then deselect everything that's not "Office Tools" > "Microsoft Office Picture Manager"

Hey John,

You are correct that Office Picture Manager was removed from the suite. Inside programs such as PowerPoint and Word there are still editing tools. You also have Windows Live Photo Gallery which I feel is a much more program specific picture editing tool. Hopefully the small change does not effect your trial of the Next Microsoft Office.

    For several of my machines and our business, we upgraded to Office 365. We had been using MS Exchange hosted by GoDaddy anyway. The entire Office 365 package to include Office 2013 was a good upgrade value for us. OneDrive, Lync, and SharePoint we an extreme disappointment and useless to us. That's another story. But we missed Picture Manager.

    OK, SOLUTION: Pull out your old Office 2010 installation discs and install only Picture Manager when you get the options of which components to install.  Done. It lives happily with Office 2013.

    I use Photoshop Elements, mostly the RAW editor, quite a bit. But if I need a quick crop or resize to compress, Picture Manager is perfect.

    Perhaps Microsoft wants to force us to use other suppliers of programs.

    That's what they have done in my case for quick and simple photo editing.

    Bad decision on their part.

    Yes, Photo Gallery has a "wow" factor and makes, for example, finding photos by face recognition very easy;  however, it lacks many features Picture Manager had - such as re-sizing and sending multiple photos via email.  MS did NOT have end-user in mind by eliminating Picture Manager.
