What replaces office picture manager in office 2013?

The Office Picture Manager has been a very quick and easy tool to use, built into Office and readily available no matter what machine I have to use.  I would rather not have to install 3rd party software to do what MS has made easy to do in the past.

Any word on what this app is called now and where it's hidden in the Office 2013 install?

The best workaround I've found is to use the free SharePoint Designer 2010 to bootstrap the MS Office Picture Manager.

You can get the SharePoint Installer from this post:

Then, for more detailed instructions, you can follow the Guide Here:

The short version is to run the installer.  

Then choose "Customize" instead of "Install Now".  

Then deselect everything that's not "Office Tools" > "Microsoft Office Picture Manager"

Hey John,

You are correct that Office Picture Manager was removed from the suite. Inside programs such as PowerPoint and Word there are still editing tools. You also have Windows Live Photo Gallery which I feel is a much more program specific picture editing tool. Hopefully the small change does not effect your trial of the Next Microsoft Office.

    I just download “Office Professional 2013” and I already start feeling the pain... I was not aware of missing program as important for my everyday workload as "OFFICE PICTURE MANAGER"

    Someone in Redmond is NOT doing a good job on paying attention to their loyal customer base...  

    You “Microsoft” are supposed to make better things to keep your livelihood, otherwise we (Your Customers) will eventually leave.

    Take note of that.

      Very Unhappy Customer with a Brand New OFFICE PRO 2013

    I would just like to say that it was a stupid decision to remove picture manager from Office 2013. This was such a handy tool for quick editing, resizing and cropping of photos. Windows Live Photo Gallery is a horrible alternative; you can't easily see the dimensions of what you're cropping, you can't save as, plus it takes about 5 steps just to get to editing a photo.

    Microsoft, what were you thinking removing it. There better be an office update coming soon returning it or I will either revert back to Office 2010 or find a non-Microsoft alternative!

    Windows Live Photo Gallery is NOTHING like Office Picture Manager - it's about as similar as a hotdog is to a felafel roll. I've started using Photoscape which is a freeware program but please oh please Microsoft, come to your senses. Don't make me do this. At least make Office Picture Manager available as a separate download for those of us who use the technology for real work, not for organising selfies and vanity albums. Live Photo Gallery doesn't cut the mustard.
