What replaces office picture manager in office 2013?

The Office Picture Manager has been a very quick and easy tool to use, built into Office and readily available no matter what machine I have to use.  I would rather not have to install 3rd party software to do what MS has made easy to do in the past.

Any word on what this app is called now and where it's hidden in the Office 2013 install?

The best workaround I've found is to use the free SharePoint Designer 2010 to bootstrap the MS Office Picture Manager.

You can get the SharePoint Installer from this post:

The short version is to run the installer.  

Then choose "Customize" instead of "Install Now".  

Then deselect everything that's not "Office Tools" > "Microsoft Office Picture Manager"

Hey John,

You are correct that Office Picture Manager was removed from the suite. Inside programs such as PowerPoint and Word there are still editing tools. You also have Windows Live Photo Gallery which I feel is a much more program specific picture editing tool. Hopefully the small change does not effect your trial of the Next Microsoft Office.

    That's fine if you have one photograph... I come from a survey with 200-300 photographs that need to be resized and the names changed to something like "Cell Site A12-001" to "Cell Site A12-297"

    Are you going to do that in Photo Gallery?

    No.

    So... as I have said about 15 times in this thread already... nobody seems to go back and read...

    put Picture Manager BACK into Microsoft Office.

    This is well put Jerry, as I too deal with hundreds of large sized professional photos in my work that need the same simple tasks done on a large repeat scale.  So the ease of a program like the Picture Manager permitted me to speed through such a task of resizing and cropping each one for their secondary purpose with a simple edit followed by a quick arrow advance to the next photo without ever having to break and close and reopen and start over one by one.  Those same tasks done in MSFT's  Digital Pro or their Gallery (or Adobe for that matter), do not allow an easy advance to the next photo to quick do the same resized and crop.  Thus making the Picture Manager a very special program that had one up on even a great like Adobe. Though the MSFT Pic Mngr is smaller program, MSFT is clearly being short sighted to drop something that actual made then special in their own way.  This dropped program has cost me so much time in a task I use to be able to wiz thru that I literally was just going to throw out 2013 reinstall 2010 just for the Picture manager! Thank for pointing out the an alternate install option.

    Even better than that... you can use the export function to do ALL of them in ONE CLICK.

    Create a second folder, I usually call it "small" inside the main directory... then I use EXPORT and on the name I have it add "sm_" so "Image125.jpg" becomes "sm_Image125.jpg" for example... or I just give them a name like "Courthouse -" and they get sequentially numbered.

    It amazes me how many people will jump into a forum like this and complain about a missing feature or an issue.... but will never take the time to scroll back a few pages. I do a huge amount of Excel work... typed in my query... and saw about two pages of "I wish we could do that"... but when i got back about 3 pages... there was a step-by-step instruction complete with sample code.

    For anyone who may read this... don't just hit a forum page... actually "dig in" and go a bit deeper... usually the answers are there.
