What replaces office picture manager in office 2013?

The Office Picture Manager has been a very quick and easy tool to use, built into Office and readily available no matter what machine I have to use. I would rather not have to install 3rd party software to do what MS has made easy to do in the past.

Any word on what this app is called now and where it's hidden in the Office 2013 install?

The best workaround I've found is to use the free SharePoint Designer 2010 to bootstrap the MS Office Picture Manager.

The short version is to run the installer.

Then choose "Customize" instead of "Install Now".

Then deselect everything that's not "Office Tools" > "Microsoft Office Picture Manager"

Hey John,

You are correct that Office Picture Manager was removed from the suite. Inside programs such as PowerPoint and Word there are still editing tools. You also have Windows Live Photo Gallery which I feel is a much more program specific picture editing tool. Hopefully the small change does not effect your trial of the Next Microsoft Office.

Well, MSFT Office Upgrade Creators, this makes 2013 a down grade. To go from one quick double click into a quick photo edit mode to a quick close and save click was perfect for a professional like me that has to do a massive amount of small generic quick crops and quick downsize to every large professional employee photo for us to have a quick small version on file. While I do also have the Digital Pro, and use it for many other projects, it is by no means a convenient option to go from what was a quick crop and downsize system to have to now add opening up a whole software program that always takes a minute to open and then adds the step to have to do special selection to save the program in jpg as well as having to open each picture one by one vs. the old program that allowed you to quick arrow to your next photo/next crop in your folder. So, to spell out what should have been the obvious, adding extras steps to your consumers work is *never* a good thing. :(

On this noted commented, the fact that the consumer is forced to use a section of software that dates back to what was used in the 90's speaks volumnes to MSFT stupidity in removing the Picturer Manager in 2013!

Hello, I'm first time trying out the Windows Live Photo Gallery option instead of Picture Mgr. I was wondering if could help me understand what I need to do to activate Cropping feature? I have a photo open in the tool that I would need to crop but that option seems to be inactive as are also red eye removal, brightness, color, etc...
