What replaces office picture manager in office 2013?

The Office Picture Manager has been a very quick and easy tool to use, built into Office and readily available no matter what machine I have to use.  I would rather not have to install 3rd party software to do what MS has made easy to do in the past.

Any word on what this app is called now and where it's hidden in the Office 2013 install?

The best workaround I've found is to use the free SharePoint Designer 2010 to bootstrap the MS Office Picture Manager.

You can get the SharePoint Installer from this post:

The short version is to run the installer.  

Then choose "Customize" instead of "Install Now".  

Then deselect everything that's not "Office Tools" > "Microsoft Office Picture Manager"

Hey John,

You are correct that Office Picture Manager was removed from the suite. Inside programs such as PowerPoint and Word there are still editing tools. You also have Windows Live Photo Gallery which I feel is a much more program specific picture editing tool. Hopefully the small change does not effect your trial of the Next Microsoft Office.

    I wish I could take mine back to the Windows 7 instead of this **** 8... I refuse to upgrade it to the higher version now.... I have lost the use of my very reliable and efficient HP lazerjet 5P printer!   : (  Waste with all the **** and my computers are not running effficiently... as if your internet is not running the programs are limited!  STUPID!  what about people that don;t have internet access?  And my computers have constant freezing problems... the programs constantly become unresponsive... I thought it was my old computer.. but my brand new laptop does this all the time as well!  iT IS THE MICROSOFT PROGRAM! that has the problems.

    I too will replace my current lap top & computer with an APPLE!  not a PC!  so I don't have to deal with Microsoft or Windows!

    Just go back in this discussion and you will see the instructions to download the picuture Manager and load it to do your work... not to hard to do !  Instructions are in here to take the old program and download only the picture manager.  Don;t let Microsoft control you!  You paid for it already.. don;t let them take it away!

    Hey Robert

    No matter what disengenuoise excuses that you come up with, the truth is that this change (loss of picture manager) is just one of dozens of reasons that Windows 8 is RUBBISH.  It does NOTHING better than 7 which I only know because I regularly have to use it on my wife's machine.  More keystrokes, less functionality.  If you want to play X Box it's probably OK but for those of us who just want to use our 'puters for work it is awful.

    I will NEVER migrate my data onto such an inelegant and unworkable platform and when I eventually have to upgrade my hardware I will be going to Linux.  It will be  a lot of work and will take a lot of learning but I am sick of being treated with such total contempt by this corporation!
