What replaces office picture manager in office 2013?

The Office Picture Manager has been a very quick and easy tool to use, built into Office and readily available no matter what machine I have to use.  I would rather not have to install 3rd party software to do what MS has made easy to do in the past.

Any word on what this app is called now and where it's hidden in the Office 2013 install?

The best workaround I've found is to use the free SharePoint Designer 2010 to bootstrap the MS Office Picture Manager.

The short version is to run the installer.  

Then choose "Customize" instead of "Install Now".  

Then deselect everything that's not "Office Tools" > "Microsoft Office Picture Manager"

Hey John,

You are correct that Office Picture Manager was removed from the suite. Inside programs such as PowerPoint and Word there are still editing tools. You also have Windows Live Photo Gallery which I feel is a much more program specific picture editing tool. Hopefully the small change does not effect your trial of the Next Microsoft Office.

    I have used Microsoft Picture Manager for years to edit my photos.  The thing I really liked was that I could make various changes and save each one under "save as."  I can still make the various changes but I cannot save them.  Is it possible to add this back in an update?

    I would sent them the instructions to reinstall Picture Manager and have them push that. I have posted the instructions on here several times. If they have the install disk from the last version, they can push only that component from Microsoft... which they have already verified.

    Agreed with your comment! MS should have conducted a survey of some sort to find out which application us users want to keep in the upgraded package.

    Our Management has recently implemented a force-installed of Office 2013 and with it, Picture Manager's gone. I use Picture Manager on a daily basis, as it allows me to rotate images to any degrees. Now, most of the time I received scanned images that are either slanted or distorted. For better presentation in the reports, I would straighten them using PM and then save the images before pasting them to the report.

    However, with the absence of PM, I am at a loss! I could not install other software because our IT prohibits unauthorised download & installation of non-verified software. This is so frustrating and I hope that with these pages and pages of complaints, MS will restore PM in Office 2013.  The question remains - will they or won't they?
