What replaces office picture manager in office 2013?

The Office Picture Manager has been a very quick and easy tool to use, built into Office and readily available no matter what machine I have to use. I would rather not have to install 3rd party software to do what MS has made easy to do in the past.

Any word on what this app is called now and where it's hidden in the Office 2013 install?

The best workaround I've found is to use the free SharePoint Designer 2010 to bootstrap the MS Office Picture Manager.

You can get the SharePoint Installer from this post:

Then, for more detailed instructions, you can follow the Guide Here:

The short version is to run the installer.

Then choose "Customize" instead of "Install Now".

Then deselect everything that's not "Office Tools" > "Microsoft Office Picture Manager"

Hey John,

You are correct that Office Picture Manager was removed from the suite. Inside programs such as PowerPoint and Word there are still editing tools. You also have Windows Live Photo Gallery which I feel is a much more program specific picture editing tool. Hopefully the small change does not effect your trial of the Next Microsoft Office.

As the posts mention, download Sharepoint 2010: http://www.experts-exchange.com/Software/Office\_Productivity/Office\_Suites/MS\_Office/A\_12697-How-to-Install-Microsoft-Office-Picture-Manager-in-Office-2013.html

Click on Customise,, and deslect everything, and then under Microsoft Tools, Select Microsoft Picture Manager.

Voila, the useful tool is back again so you can easily:

Change file names quickly while viewing photos

Crop and change resolutions quickly

Correct contrast and brightness quickly

Change file version quickly.

Change file size easily.

Use autocorrect for dark or bright photos.

All of the above is very intuitive, all able to be done quickly. Microsoft Office Picutre Manager is a great, well designed tool!

Picture Manager is a nice tool. Removing it from Office leaves a lot to be desired. With Picture Manager, you could edit and clean up a picture as a separate object. Suggesting the use of PowerPoint or Word to edit a picture begs the question. Windows Live Photo Gallery is a program that leaves something to be desire. Bring back Picture Manager. It was simple, it did what we needed to do and it worked very well. Why do you guys do stuff like this?
