What replaces office picture manager in office 2013?

SMALL CHANGE??? This is not a small change, taking something away that a person has been used to using FOREVER.  I wish to GOD my husband had bought me a MAC instead of this new window computer.

The best workaround I've found is to use the free SharePoint Designer 2010 to bootstrap the MS Office Picture Manager.

The short version is to run the installer.  

Then choose "Customize" instead of "Install Now".  

Then deselect everything that's not "Office Tools" > "Microsoft Office Picture Manager"

Microsoft kylemit: After reviewing all that is said here and getting more confused than ever by other photo editing programs you mentioned on or about Nov 12, to look for Windows Live Photo Gallery.  I didn't see that but I did see Photo Gallery and everything from Picture Manager is there, the only sneaky part is if you want to "resize" you will need to right click the photo before you open it and click on "resize.  See: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-live/windows-essentials-help#v1h=tab2.  Thanks for the help.

The Office Picture Manager has been a very quick and easy tool to use, built into Office and readily available no matter what machine I have to use.  I would rather not have to install 3rd party software to do what MS has made easy to do in the past.

Any word on what this app is called now and where it's hidden in the Office 2013 install?

You are correct that Office Picture Manager was removed from the suite. Inside programs such as PowerPoint and Word there are still editing tools. You also have Windows Live Photo Gallery which I feel is a much more program specific picture editing tool. Hopefully the small change does not effect your trial of the Next Microsoft Office.

what a bummer.. the new office 2013 really removed features that office 2010 users liked.. the Office Picture Manager is one example, by removing it in office 2013 and asking users to use alternative that lacks a lot of feature..  one example is the "compress image" option in Office Picture Manager, what other editing tools that MS have to replace this ?

I had the same trouble but if you will check this out: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-live/windows-essentials-help#v1h=tab2.  Click on Photo Gallery you will find it all there, if you need to resize just right click on the picture before you open it and click on "resize.
