What replaces office picture manager in office 2013?

The Office Picture Manager has been a very quick and easy tool to use, built into Office and readily available no matter what machine I have to use. I would rather not have to install 3rd party software to do what MS has made easy to do in the past.

Any word on what this app is called now and where it's hidden in the Office 2013 install?

The best workaround I've found is to use the free SharePoint Designer 2010 to bootstrap the MS Office Picture Manager.

The short version is to run the installer.

Then choose "Customize" instead of "Install Now".

Then deselect everything that's not "Office Tools" > "Microsoft Office Picture Manager"

Hey John,

You are correct that Office Picture Manager was removed from the suite. Inside programs such as PowerPoint and Word there are still editing tools. You also have Windows Live Photo Gallery which I feel is a much more program specific picture editing tool. Hopefully the small change does not effect your trial of the Next Microsoft Office.

Had to do a reset today and once again had to do the work-around to get my Office Picture Manager installed again.

I have found no other program that so easily allows you to resize and crop pictures. Every time I post a picture online it has to be resized so it doesn't exceed the file size or it has to be cropped so it is the correct proportions (e.g. twitter).

I have friends who send me pictures to crop & resize for them because they can't figure out any other way to fix pictures.

Microsoft --- Bring back this program.

I thought I couldn't live without Office Picture Manager, too, until I discovered PicMonkey.com online photo editor. Many of the features are completely free to use and it doesn't require any disc space since the program's online. I pay $33 a year to use ALL the fabulous features: re-size, crop, dodge, burn, special effects, layers - you name it, it can do it...easily! Forget Microsoft!

Yes, I to, and most of my co-workers do miss that tool. I wish Microsoft didn't remove it.
