What replaces office picture manager in office 2013?

The Office Picture Manager has been a very quick and easy tool to use, built into Office and readily available no matter what machine I have to use.  I would rather not have to install 3rd party software to do what MS has made easy to do in the past.

Any word on what this app is called now and where it's hidden in the Office 2013 install?

The best workaround I've found is to use the free SharePoint Designer 2010 to bootstrap the MS Office Picture Manager.

You can get the SharePoint Installer from this post:

The short version is to run the installer.  

Then choose "Customize" instead of "Install Now".  

Then deselect everything that's not "Office Tools" > "Microsoft Office Picture Manager"

Hey John,

You are correct that Office Picture Manager was removed from the suite. Inside programs such as PowerPoint and Word there are still editing tools. You also have Windows Live Photo Gallery which I feel is a much more program specific picture editing tool. Hopefully the small change does not effect your trial of the Next Microsoft Office.

    You Microsoft guys are all alike, you stand behind whatever ridiculous decision Microsoft makes. Pay attention, Picture Manager was loved by a lot of users, including me, and many of my friends. It is fast, and works well. Suggesting that we use some other piece of bloatware is pure lunacy.  I compare your ridiculous suggestion to telling a user who complains about Notepad being done away with, and you suggest that Word will work just as well. No, Word would not replace Notepad, get that through your corporate brain. Microsoft keeps shooting themselves in the foot with every bright idea they come up with. 

    Why not leave some things alone, or pretty them up. some things are better to leave alone. 

    I will get used to all the changes to Office 2013, but not to losing Microsoft Picture manager. 

    Please don't try to make us sound like complainers, this is feedback that you are not taking seriously enough. 

    Two quotes that come to mind in support of this observation / complaint that I wholeheartedly support:

    1. If it aint broke don't try to fix it.
    2. Don't throw the baby out with the bath water.

    Come on Microsoft, listen to your community.

    Joseph Massimino : Don't forget to scroll back to previous posts... so you can reinstall Picture Manager into your current suite. It is pretty easy to do... then you will have it. I know I haven't found anything that works as well.
