What replaces office picture manager in office 2013?

The Office Picture Manager has been a very quick and easy tool to use, built into Office and readily available no matter what machine I have to use. I would rather not have to install 3rd party software to do what MS has made easy to do in the past.

Any word on what this app is called now and where it's hidden in the Office 2013 install?

The best workaround I've found is to use the free SharePoint Designer 2010 to bootstrap the MS Office Picture Manager.

You can get the SharePoint Installer from this post:

Then, for more detailed instructions, you can follow the Guide Here:

The short version is to run the installer.

Then choose "Customize" instead of "Install Now".

Then deselect everything that's not "Office Tools" > "Microsoft Office Picture Manager"

Hey John,

You are correct that Office Picture Manager was removed from the suite. Inside programs such as PowerPoint and Word there are still editing tools. You also have Windows Live Photo Gallery which I feel is a much more program specific picture editing tool. Hopefully the small change does not effect your trial of the Next Microsoft Office.

What puzzles me is that we belong to a dedicated community providing feedback to Microsoft about the good and the not so good about Windows 10 and for some reason they choose to ignore our concern about the Picture Manager issue. TO THE MICROSOFT WINDOWS 10 DEVELOPMENT TEAM: Please come clean about why you have not listened to your community about why you are so reluctant to reinstall Picture Manager or at the very least to add these features to Photo Gallery. Please remember that the reason you are collaborating with your community is to reduce the significant frustration that the various versions of windows have caused over the years and yet, in this case, we seem to be being ignored without good reason. N.B. My apologies if there is another thread somewhere indicating that you are in fact going to fix it.

Felt the same way when I read that. Has the MS person responding even used Picture Manager for editing and sharing photos via email? From the response, I think not.

Upon trying to use the latest MS programs and found disappointment, I thought I would just go ahead and buy Pic. Manager and live with the fact it was no longer included. Sadly, I've discovered I cannot and that's how I found this forum. Totally flabbergasted with what MS is doing. (I had been a long-time loyalist, but am now reconsidering.)
