What replaces office picture manager in office 2013?

The Office Picture Manager has been a very quick and easy tool to use, built into Office and readily available no matter what machine I have to use.  I would rather not have to install 3rd party software to do what MS has made easy to do in the past.

Any word on what this app is called now and where it's hidden in the Office 2013 install?

The best workaround I've found is to use the free SharePoint Designer 2010 to bootstrap the MS Office Picture Manager.

You can get the SharePoint Installer from this post:

The short version is to run the installer.  

Then choose "Customize" instead of "Install Now".  

Then deselect everything that's not "Office Tools" > "Microsoft Office Picture Manager"

Hey John,

You are correct that Office Picture Manager was removed from the suite. Inside programs such as PowerPoint and Word there are still editing tools. You also have Windows Live Photo Gallery which I feel is a much more program specific picture editing tool. Hopefully the small change does not effect your trial of the Next Microsoft Office.

    Have no connection with any company at all. I am a retire e living in rural Australia and have a very average understanding of IT. There are no ads on Picasa. It does come from Google, if that worries you.

    I tried (several times) to download Picture Manager using some of the suggestions at the front of this thread, without success and having to reboot the new computer twice as a result. When it did load it developed a fault on the first run through.

    The guaranteed fix is just to download Picasa 3. It is free, has better features than Picture Manager, is just as easy to use and has the all important ability to write comments about each picture (which it picks up from your Picture Manager files). So my annotations on about 2500 photos were saved, the dog no longer cringes when I walk past and my wife and I had a nice night out on the proceeds of the swear jar. Highly recommend it.

    I appreciate your suggestion, but have to admit I am wary of what other mayhem may be caused by downloading something recommended by someone I do not know. Please pardon my ignorance - do you work for a company that will pitch ads for things in Picasa that will then be required for me to use?
