What replaces office picture manager in office 2013?

The Office Picture Manager has been a very quick and easy tool to use, built into Office and readily available no matter what machine I have to use.  I would rather not have to install 3rd party software to do what MS has made easy to do in the past.

Any word on what this app is called now and where it's hidden in the Office 2013 install?

The best workaround I've found is to use the free SharePoint Designer 2010 to bootstrap the MS Office Picture Manager.

You can get the SharePoint Installer from this post:

The short version is to run the installer.  

Then choose "Customize" instead of "Install Now".  

Then deselect everything that's not "Office Tools" > "Microsoft Office Picture Manager"

Hey John,

You are correct that Office Picture Manager was removed from the suite. Inside programs such as PowerPoint and Word there are still editing tools. You also have Windows Live Photo Gallery which I feel is a much more program specific picture editing tool. Hopefully the small change does not effect your trial of the Next Microsoft Office.

    Picture manager was one of the best Microsoft programmes.

    Why on earth did they get rid of it?

    Windows live essentials is no substitute.

    Sadly I have had to download another programme.

    Alright, after the deletion of 2013 and restarting my computer, I was able to download and use the custom installation for 2010.

    WHOOOOOhoooooo.......got Picture Manager back!

    Mainly use it for compressing the images.  I use the pixel format 600x400 etc.....

    Power point only gave me inch units.......how the hell does a layman convert that to known pixels?

    Not worth my time to find out.

    Do I want to cancel all items BUT Picture Manager?

    What's bad with installing the whole program?

    If you already have Sharepoint 2013... you don't want to take a chance goobering that up... so yes... only install the Picture Manager.

    Microsoft removed Picture Manager from the entire 2013 suite... do you know why???

    Because it didn't LOOK the same... that's right... because the new stuff has a different "skin"... they didn't update the look... they just pulled it.

    Stupid eh?
