What replaces office picture manager in office 2013?

The Office Picture Manager has been a very quick and easy tool to use, built into Office and readily available no matter what machine I have to use.  I would rather not have to install 3rd party software to do what MS has made easy to do in the past.

Any word on what this app is called now and where it's hidden in the Office 2013 install?

The best workaround I've found is to use the free SharePoint Designer 2010 to bootstrap the MS Office Picture Manager.

You can get the SharePoint Installer from this post:

Then, for more detailed instructions, you can follow the Guide Here:

The short version is to run the installer.  

Then choose "Customize" instead of "Install Now".  

Then deselect everything that's not "Office Tools" > "Microsoft Office Picture Manager"

Hey John,

You are correct that Office Picture Manager was removed from the suite. Inside programs such as PowerPoint and Word there are still editing tools. You also have Windows Live Photo Gallery which I feel is a much more program specific picture editing tool. Hopefully the small change does not effect your trial of the Next Microsoft Office.

    Hi Robert, sorry but I disagree about the desicion to remove that usefull aplication. Is not the same to edit a image into PowerPoint or Word program, like to edit in a direct way on the file. Thanks God we still can install the Picture Manager from Office 2010 and enjoy it.

    This is because your post is not really useful.

    In my case, the IT dept. decline the installation of "NON- Office 2013 native" applications.

    So... If you want, you can keep posting that, but it is not a good one.

    Your answer is terrible, LOTS of people use the Office Picture Manager for fast and efficient image editing, nothing to do at all with word or powerpoint files. I don't want to open word, I just want to open the image in a fast application and edit the image for my work

     If I want a better editor I already have it, its called Photoshop and Illustrator, and yet I use OPM on a daily basis. 

     What a bad call Microsoft.
