What replaces office picture manager in office 2013?

The Office Picture Manager has been a very quick and easy tool to use, built into Office and readily available no matter what machine I have to use.  I would rather not have to install 3rd party software to do what MS has made easy to do in the past.

Any word on what this app is called now and where it's hidden in the Office 2013 install?

The best workaround I've found is to use the free SharePoint Designer 2010 to bootstrap the MS Office Picture Manager.

You can get the SharePoint Installer from this post:

The short version is to run the installer.  

Then choose "Customize" instead of "Install Now".  

Then deselect everything that's not "Office Tools" > "Microsoft Office Picture Manager"

Hey John,

You are correct that Office Picture Manager was removed from the suite. Inside programs such as PowerPoint and Word there are still editing tools. You also have Windows Live Photo Gallery which I feel is a much more program specific picture editing tool. Hopefully the small change does not effect your trial of the Next Microsoft Office.

    I would love to be able to 

    Let MS know how you feel by going into a photo / edit area in PowerPoint or Word - selecting the smiley in the top toolbar and sending them a big frown regarding the lack of Picture Manager.  That form of feedback works for all of the areas of Office that you find feature gaps, or things you like.

    But I can't find the smiley options in the toolbar in word 2016  :(

    I just noticed the lack of Picture Manager when uploading to pictures to a SharePoint Picture Library--now I have no option to web optimize the pictures as they are uploaded. This was a great feature!

    Dear Laura, This issue has been kicked around the Microsoft Community for months. Sadly Microsoft has chosen to ignore its customers despite all the noises about wanting to engage directly with customers to correct the errors of judgement they have made in software development over the decades. My guess is that talking about it and DOING it is still work in progress at Microsoft. Thanks for your support on this issue and let us hope that Microsoft wakes up! Regards Tim
