What replaces office picture manager in office 2013?

The Office Picture Manager has been a very quick and easy tool to use, built into Office and readily available no matter what machine I have to use.  I would rather not have to install 3rd party software to do what MS has made easy to do in the past.

Any word on what this app is called now and where it's hidden in the Office 2013 install?

The best workaround I've found is to use the free SharePoint Designer 2010 to bootstrap the MS Office Picture Manager.

You can get the SharePoint Installer from this post:

The short version is to run the installer.  

Then choose "Customize" instead of "Install Now".  

Then deselect everything that's not "Office Tools" > "Microsoft Office Picture Manager"

Hey John,

You are correct that Office Picture Manager was removed from the suite. Inside programs such as PowerPoint and Word there are still editing tools. You also have Windows Live Photo Gallery which I feel is a much more program specific picture editing tool. Hopefully the small change does not effect your trial of the Next Microsoft Office.

    Hello

    I apologize if my post is not exactly to the point but, after I installed Win 8 I then installed the MS Office 2010 that I had previously purchased.

    I now have have MS Picture Manager and also Windows Photo Gallery.

    If you install Windows Essentials, you are allowed to install all or one of the features. I chose the Live Mail for an email client, i.e., ' File'  'send link as email, ' and the photo gallery.

    I much prefer the Photo Gallery over the MS Picture Manger and have made it my default editing program.

     I realize this is only an opinion but if you try the Photo Gallery you may be pleasantly surprised by its versatility.

    My wife is an artist/photographer and we need a substantial program to assist with pen and ink renderings , resizing, editing etc. and the photo gallery has all the features we need.

    I found Office Picture Manager very useful,  I used it mainly to crop and compress images prior to inserting them into a PowerPoint Presentation or Word Document, this method helped to keep file sizes down to a minimum and followed good practice - information management. 

    I am sure there are other methods to overcome this but I can think of no reason to lose this program / functionality as part of a complete office package.

    This is not only at poor decision it's a stupid one. Picture Manager is integrated with MS SharePoint, and allows you to optimize a bundle of photos in one single step when uploading. Using other tools to would have to optimize each photo first, and then do the "mass" upload to SharePoint.

    We have the option of not upgrading or have both 2013 and 2010 Tool installed :-(  From at IT departments standpoint, thats extra cost, time and money

    You simply have to change that decisions, or provide another tool to do the same.
