What replaces office picture manager in office 2013?

The Office Picture Manager has been a very quick and easy tool to use, built into Office and readily available no matter what machine I have to use.  I would rather not have to install 3rd party software to do what MS has made easy to do in the past.

Any word on what this app is called now and where it's hidden in the Office 2013 install?

The best workaround I've found is to use the free SharePoint Designer 2010 to bootstrap the MS Office Picture Manager.

You can get the SharePoint Installer from this post:

The short version is to run the installer.  

Then choose "Customize" instead of "Install Now".  

Then deselect everything that's not "Office Tools" > "Microsoft Office Picture Manager"

Hey John,

You are correct that Office Picture Manager was removed from the suite. Inside programs such as PowerPoint and Word there are still editing tools. You also have Windows Live Photo Gallery which I feel is a much more program specific picture editing tool. Hopefully the small change does not effect your trial of the Next Microsoft Office.

    Office 2013 was designed by the iPhone team ... MS has given up on their business accounts and are now only interested in producing "social contact tools" with a touch screen interface.

    We're recommending that all of our business accounts skip Office 2013 and just add office 2010 licenses through us. Outlook 2013 is garbage, MS now likes to refer to it as no longer the premier corporate email tool, but as a "social contact manager".

    Picture manager was the default we set for all the systems in our business accounts since Office 2003 ... now that MS has decided they are going to pull that out from under our accounts we're looking for a new standard.

    Who are these idiots who insist on destroying their corporate user's environments? Hasn't anyone ever told these Mark Zuckerberg wanna-be's "if it ain't broke, don't fix it"?

    Keep it up idiots and we'll start migrating our users to Linux.

    Picture manager is available in the free download of Sharepoint 2007 and 2010

    Download SharePoint Designer 2007

    EDIT:

    You don't actually have to install SharePoint.

    Download the installer file.

    Start the installation process and select the "Custom" install option. You will then have the option of selecting which products will be installed, for example MOD only, or Picture Manager only

    Can I ask the Microsoft people if they have any intention of giving us this tool back? It must be obvious to them - from this thread alone - that what 'replaces' it is unwieldy and inadequate. What is the plan? Just ignore us? Surely not! Can we please have it back, guys?
