What replaces office picture manager in office 2013?

I understand this person's pain. I was reading every post and was going to scroll to the end of this page and select the last page, but I saw this long post and had to read. Now I must reply for perspective and future readers (I'm reading this two years after it posted).

All comments up to this point that called the Office Picture Manager (OPM) useful reflect my own usage. If I need quick and simple crop and/or file resize for things like Outlook contact pictures or uploading to social sites, screenshots/clips to email to someone showing them how to do something and any other simple task that you just want done so you can move on with the task you need the picture for, OPM was perfect in my opinion and it seems like the opinion of others so far. It loaded fast and all those options were one or two clicks away. You could save, or save-as to keep your original, and close the program in a second.

If I wanted to EDIT pictures to make them look better as it seems that's what you needed, honestly, I looked elsewhere. Picture editing is a task in itself and deserves a program that may take a little longer to load and has so many features that its menus are deep and simple things like CROP take a few clicks to get to. This sounds like what you wanted to use OPM for.

I reply to this post, not specifically for the one that posted it since I'm two years late, but for anyone else searching for a solution like the majority of posters up to this point because this poster wrote: "but you should before you say the app was really all you ever needed." For those things things in the second paragraph, that WAS all I ever needed. OPM did it quickly and then got out of my way so I could move on with the ACTUAL task at hand.

Since so many are missing this feature, some genius should write a simple app to do that and sell it for $4.99 (after a trial, of course). I bet they'd make a killing. If only I knew how to code...

not sure if this is the right link I used to successfully get MS Pictire Manager back (a hugly popular program - and MS Corp caring less about their own clients to try to look like aooke and come up with the most horrific opperating system ever .... rather go back to DOS at times while using windows 8) ... anyway....

I too am lamenting the loss of Picture Manager. I am working on an office computer so use of any kind of cloud is forbidden. We have a central server where all the photos are kept so that is my only option. I have the Creative Suite and Windows 7 and was told to use Light Room as the alternative. But I don't want to use such a complex program for the simple organizing I need to do and that Picture Manager was perfect for. Besides the lost time I will incur learning to use this program is dealing with the frustration of using a sledgehammer to do the job of a tack hammer. We are not allowed to download any software to office computers so I am stuck. Thanks Microsoft.

Oh how I feel fior you.  MS has hurt their brand so very much.... after hours and hours **I was finally able to get MS picture Manager .... and I use it all the time with no problem.  MS does not want us to continue using it !!!!**but .. finding a way to install it online - which saved my life so-to-speak ....  I just dont remember how I did it ...  /but I promise you .... if you reply back to this response or email me, I will find it for you and provide instructions...  ... I am disabled so it takes me longer than some..if you keep in touch, I will send you directions.  I have heard to stay away from Windows 10 ...  I dont believe windows 10 has it and I hear that windows 10 (which is offered fre...lol) is worse than windows 8 or 8.1 -   The only products I'll purchase in the future are Mac products ... and I dint know how to use a Mac.. but when this laptop goes ... I'll learn Mac.... unfortunately I will likley need MS applications to do my work ... MS got greedy and showed little to no concern or loyalty to their customer base and they have us with MS Word - Excell - Picture Manager .....  thoes are the only 3 products that I would have a hard time living without.  MS should be ashamed of themselves...   I just had a friend give me his laptop with windows 8 ... so that I could plug it into my smart tv and watch movies .... but you even have to buy the software to be abke ti use your disc drive....  sickening ....
