What replaces office picture manager in office 2013?

The Office Picture Manager has been a very quick and easy tool to use, built into Office and readily available no matter what machine I have to use.  I would rather not have to install 3rd party software to do what MS has made easy to do in the past.

Any word on what this app is called now and where it's hidden in the Office 2013 install?

The best workaround I've found is to use the free SharePoint Designer 2010 to bootstrap the MS Office Picture Manager.

You can get the SharePoint Installer from this post:

The short version is to run the installer.  

Then choose "Customize" instead of "Install Now".  

Then deselect everything that's not "Office Tools" > "Microsoft Office Picture Manager"

Hey John,

You are correct that Office Picture Manager was removed from the suite. Inside programs such as PowerPoint and Word there are still editing tools. You also have Windows Live Photo Gallery which I feel is a much more program specific picture editing tool. Hopefully the small change does not effect your trial of the Next Microsoft Office.

    Totally agree.  Picture Manager did everything easily.  Very disappointed with Windows Life Photo Gallery!

    I guess I was late to this party in finding out another questionable (stupid) decision by MS in removing useful capabilities from their software. I didn't realize they had removed Picture Manager since I had another machine with Office 2010 installed. So when I decided to move to my Office 365 Home Premium is when I found out. At about the same time I found out MS had removed the ability to import dbf files into Access and also can't find (or get an answer) on an import wizard it says is missing in Excel.

    You just wonder who is making these decisions in MS? This may be the one that finally gets me to move on. I'm in real estate and don't know how many colleagues I led to Picture Manager as it was just perfect for some of the "picture" tasks we needed to have supported. Same thing happened to me with Mesh - they don't listen to me any more and I don't blame them. Yes, there is SkyDrive but professionals with little "extra" time on their hands don't want to be always having to change to a new program when something is working well. Upgrades are fine, but MS just thinks we are going to keep following them off cliffs and hoping there is something more than a 100 ft drop onto the rocks below.

    Does any one know where I can find the addresses of the board of directors of MS? It is pretty obvious that the MS personnel that read these comments aren't the decision makers. $240 to talk to someone on an issue related to their software! Not sure I know of any large companies that should have been able to move their stock more than a couple of dollars over a decade after making the kinds of "investments" that MS has. There is a reason.

    PS - And I just went through **** in trying to keep my Microsoft Money working after moving to a new computer. Found out there is a whole community out there having to sweep up the trash after MS dropped a program that obviously had thousands of dedicated users.

    Sorry for the long diatribe but MS really punched my button this morning.

    Sad that MS again pulled something that was so useful. I'll be using my Photoshop from now on I guess, with Picasa as back up. :(
