What replaces office picture manager in office 2013?

The Office Picture Manager has been a very quick and easy tool to use, built into Office and readily available no matter what machine I have to use.  I would rather not have to install 3rd party software to do what MS has made easy to do in the past.

Any word on what this app is called now and where it's hidden in the Office 2013 install?

The best workaround I've found is to use the free SharePoint Designer 2010 to bootstrap the MS Office Picture Manager.

The short version is to run the installer.  

Then choose "Customize" instead of "Install Now".  

Then deselect everything that's not "Office Tools" > "Microsoft Office Picture Manager"

Hey John,

You are correct that Office Picture Manager was removed from the suite. Inside programs such as PowerPoint and Word there are still editing tools. You also have Windows Live Photo Gallery which I feel is a much more program specific picture editing tool. Hopefully the small change does not effect your trial of the Next Microsoft Office.

    Why does Microsoft have to do this?  Too often when they make a new version they remove one of the best features.  Like Windows 2008 with no POP3 support.  Removing picture manager was a huge mistake.  Live Photo Gallery is a PAIN to use, it takes much longer to do the same thing, and it is backwards the way it saves files.  What happened to the Save As option when you want to save the changes to a new file?  I know one thing - I will not be ordering any more new PCs with Office 2013 or Windows 8.  And if they make it where Windows 7 and Office 2010 are no longer available, I won't buy anything from Microsoft, except maybe a mouse.  They make good mice and keyboards...

    Okay I tried all the other "alternatives" in 2013 Office for picture management.  NONE of them even comes close to what we had with Microsoft Picture Manager.  We should be able to keep the 2010 Microsoft Picture Manager even if we otherwise upgrade to 2013.  Not very happy with 2013 so far.  The only cool aspect is the SKYDRIVE....but that could be accomplished other ways.  Please provide instructions for re-installing ONLY Microsoft Picture Manager 2010 and leaving the other programs upgraded to 2013. Thanks! AMM

    Here are your instructions:

    Step 1:  Open your web browser

    Step 2:  Browse to www.google.com

    Step 3: Type how to install microsoft office picture manager

    Browse through the first page of responses...you'll find it.

    Its much better that way.  You will learn how to use a search engine AND install the program.

    Read through the discussion. Long ago, I posted instructions on how to get a free copy of Picture Manager.
