What replaces office picture manager in office 2013?

The Office Picture Manager has been a very quick and easy tool to use, built into Office and readily available no matter what machine I have to use.  I would rather not have to install 3rd party software to do what MS has made easy to do in the past.

Any word on what this app is called now and where it's hidden in the Office 2013 install?

The best workaround I've found is to use the free SharePoint Designer 2010 to bootstrap the MS Office Picture Manager.

You can get the SharePoint Installer from this post:

The short version is to run the installer.  

Then choose "Customize" instead of "Install Now".  

Then deselect everything that's not "Office Tools" > "Microsoft Office Picture Manager"

Hey John,

You are correct that Office Picture Manager was removed from the suite. Inside programs such as PowerPoint and Word there are still editing tools. You also have Windows Live Photo Gallery which I feel is a much more program specific picture editing tool. Hopefully the small change does not effect your trial of the Next Microsoft Office.

    After just moving to Windows 8 and Office 365 I am really upset at having to use Photo Gallery instead of Picture Manager.  The commands are not as easy to find and if you do find how to make the changes, where the heck do you save the image?  I looked on every tab and menu drop down and it is not there.  If I am missing something please let me know.  I am having to use my husband's PC for my photo editing which is not productive.  Removing picture manager was a really bad idea.

    Yes, deselecting everything is the point of doing a "custom" install.

    It's not too late to go with 2010 since you apparently have a license for it, other than the money you are out for 2013 (until you have to start using it again)

    I am running Windows 7 and have Office 2013 installed.  I installed the picture manager from Office 2010 and it works just fine, you can just deselect everything else when running the Office installation program.   I suspect you could install it from Office 2003 or 2007, Microsoft appears to have not made any significant changes to it since 2003 at least.

    I wish I had just installed Office 2010 to start with, I like the look and feel of it better than 2013.
