What replaces office picture manager in office 2013?

The Office Picture Manager has been a very quick and easy tool to use, built into Office and readily available no matter what machine I have to use. I would rather not have to install 3rd party software to do what MS has made easy to do in the past.

Any word on what this app is called now and where it's hidden in the Office 2013 install?

The best workaround I've found is to use the free SharePoint Designer 2010 to bootstrap the MS Office Picture Manager.

The short version is to run the installer.

Then choose "Customize" instead of "Install Now".

Then deselect everything that's not "Office Tools" > "Microsoft Office Picture Manager"

Hey John,

You are correct that Office Picture Manager was removed from the suite. Inside programs such as PowerPoint and Word there are still editing tools. You also have Windows Live Photo Gallery which I feel is a much more program specific picture editing tool. Hopefully the small change does not effect your trial of the Next Microsoft Office.

I agree with the group that it was a very poor decision to remove picture manger from 2013. I have read the responses and don't like being forced to use Microsoft Live or the Cloud to manage my pictures. Everyone is introducing and pushing cloud uses these days, the downfall to that is if I decide not to renew my subscription with Microsoft I will lose what ever is in the cloud. So cloud usage forces you to stay with that program.

Jerry, An important issue but for reasons not clear Microsoft seem reluctant to respond. There are complaints going back over a year and NO statement from Microsoft to explain WHY they cant restore Picture Manager to its Office suite. One of the problems, I think, is that the insider feedback whilst initially important for Microsoft to establish a relationship with it users is now being treated as background noise - not taken seriously. I am planning to write a letter (Yes on paper using a pen) to Microsoft asking for an explanation. Regards, Tim

Using Picture manager, I can have 450 JPEG images that I exported from a software package. I can select EVERY one of them, set the CROP field, and EVERY one of the 450 images is cropped exactly the same way. I can then click EXPORT and have EVERY one of the 450 images scaled to 800x600, in PNG format ready to incorporate into a (large) report that I do constantly.

Would you care to explain how I can have this functionality in photo gallery please?
