What replaces office picture manager in office 2013?

The Office Picture Manager has been a very quick and easy tool to use, built into Office and readily available no matter what machine I have to use.  I would rather not have to install 3rd party software to do what MS has made easy to do in the past.

Any word on what this app is called now and where it's hidden in the Office 2013 install?

The best workaround I've found is to use the free SharePoint Designer 2010 to bootstrap the MS Office Picture Manager.

You can get the SharePoint Installer from this post:

The short version is to run the installer.  

Then choose "Customize" instead of "Install Now".  

Then deselect everything that's not "Office Tools" > "Microsoft Office Picture Manager"

Hey John,

You are correct that Office Picture Manager was removed from the suite. Inside programs such as PowerPoint and Word there are still editing tools. You also have Windows Live Photo Gallery which I feel is a much more program specific picture editing tool. Hopefully the small change does not effect your trial of the Next Microsoft Office.

    i have installed office 2013 and from office 2010 i have installed only picture manager it works fine for me with office 2013. great.

    Thanks for this, but unfortunately I do no have access to an Office 2010 suite. I purchased Office 2013 after no longer having access to Office 2003 from my previous employer. Perhaps Microsoft could make the Picture Manager from Office 2010 available as a download for Office 2013 users? Please consider this.

    Windows Live Photo Gallery in Windows 8 is not useful. Windows 8 is not useful already. Can't stand it. Please give us Microsoft Office Picture Manager back. Thank you.

    I agree. I just upgraded to Office 2013, and I will be looking for a replacement.  The absence of a stand alone Picture Manager is BIG factor in my disappointment. I don't want to edit pictures inside another program, and Windows Live Photo Gallery is as useful as a two-legged stool.  And I am not interested in Cloud apps.

    This will be the last Office product I purchase, and I've bought all them since 95.
