What replaces office picture manager in office 2013?

The Office Picture Manager has been a very quick and easy tool to use, built into Office and readily available no matter what machine I have to use. I would rather not have to install 3rd party software to do what MS has made easy to do in the past.

Any word on what this app is called now and where it's hidden in the Office 2013 install?

The best workaround I've found is to use the free SharePoint Designer 2010 to bootstrap the MS Office Picture Manager.

The short version is to run the installer.

Then choose "Customize" instead of "Install Now".

Then deselect everything that's not "Office Tools" > "Microsoft Office Picture Manager"

Hey John,

You are correct that Office Picture Manager was removed from the suite. Inside programs such as PowerPoint and Word there are still editing tools. You also have Windows Live Photo Gallery which I feel is a much more program specific picture editing tool. Hopefully the small change does not effect your trial of the Next Microsoft Office.

I travel for my job with a company-owned laptop. Company will not allow us to install other software (such as Windows Live Photo), so I am stuck. I loved Office 2010 (such an improvement over previous versions), but I hate Office 2013... this is just one more reason.

Even the photo importer sucks now (that's part of Windows 7, I believe?). There is no ability to select the photos you want to import and organize into different folders like there used to be (unless you can use Windows Live Photo, which I can't).

Who does upgrades that actually make their software worse? Gee thanks, Microsoft. What were you thinking?

You can use the free 2010 SharePoint designer installer to get a stand-alone OPM. My earlier post a few pages back had a link with instructions.

And you probably have this 2010 SharePoint designer installer already for the mdi file viewer(microsoft document imaging fils) if you used to scan document in earlier Office suites.

This small change is keeping my company from upgrading to 2013, despite having an enterprise license. We are a very large real estate company, and our agents and office staff use the Picture Manager CONSTANTLY. It is the fastest and easiest way to batch resize and rename property photos for upload to listing sites.

And like I said, we have licensed copies of 2013 (thanks to our new parent corporation, Berkshire Hathaway) but I would face a full out revolt if I upgraded our 2007 installs and lost the OPM.

'Live' based systems are not acceptable for our needs.
