What replaces office picture manager in office 2013?

The Office Picture Manager has been a very quick and easy tool to use, built into Office and readily available no matter what machine I have to use.  I would rather not have to install 3rd party software to do what MS has made easy to do in the past.

Any word on what this app is called now and where it's hidden in the Office 2013 install?

The best workaround I've found is to use the free SharePoint Designer 2010 to bootstrap the MS Office Picture Manager.

You can get the SharePoint Installer from this post:

The short version is to run the installer.  

Then choose "Customize" instead of "Install Now".  

Then deselect everything that's not "Office Tools" > "Microsoft Office Picture Manager"

Hey John,

You are correct that Office Picture Manager was removed from the suite. Inside programs such as PowerPoint and Word there are still editing tools. You also have Windows Live Photo Gallery which I feel is a much more program specific picture editing tool. Hopefully the small change does not effect your trial of the Next Microsoft Office.

    So you must work for microsoft-ie-in-the-head huh. Lately (for severals years now) Microsoft has been making a LOT of bad decisions regarding what they leave in or take out of their products. Picture Manager was a superb small tool for doing exactly what many of us needed it to do. Windows Live Photo Gallery... not so much (which is my polite way of saying 'expletive deleted').

    Another thing: I am VERY used to using a lot of the built-in tools / apps in ways that perhaps the marketing folks at Microsoft don't imagine doing, but the DEVELOPERS (the GOOD ones) did. Apparently since Billie BummyGates decided that the USA 'deserves' to be considered 'on par' with 3rd & 4th world countries and insists on hiring UNNECESSARY foreigners when he COULD AS EASILY HIRE AMERICANS FOR THE COMPANY THAT AMERICAN MADE GREAT, his product lines have gone terribly downhill. Oh well, maybe Microsoftie is going to die soon.

    One example of things gone missing in Microsoft. In Win7 (and earlier versions) I could right click on the Windows Explorer icon on the taskbar and a flyout window would open which would have a list of recently accessed file folders. The window would remain on the screen until I either removed focus or picked one of the folders from the list. That was a WONDERFUL feature, because I could quickly open one of my frequently visited folders.

    There's a million other changes that Microsoft made that only DOWNGRADE their product. I could rant and rave about Microsoft Office 2013, but why bother? I moved to open office bc Microsoft effed up Office, very obviously, with ver 2013. Hint: they capitalized the tab labels (aka 'stupidity').

    Well now I have to go expand this rant on my blog so I can link it to my twitter(s) and my website(s).

    Of course it has an effect, yet another reason why Win 8 and the new office suites are a major step back in usability. Win 8 is all for people who look at stuff and don't actually do anything PLEASE PUT WIN 7 and the older versions of Office back on the market

    Did Microsoft actually try Win 8 before they put it on the market
