What replaces office picture manager in office 2013?

The Office Picture Manager has been a very quick and easy tool to use, built into Office and readily available no matter what machine I have to use.  I would rather not have to install 3rd party software to do what MS has made easy to do in the past.

Any word on what this app is called now and where it's hidden in the Office 2013 install?

The best workaround I've found is to use the free SharePoint Designer 2010 to bootstrap the MS Office Picture Manager.

You can get the SharePoint Installer from this post:

Then, for more detailed instructions, you can follow the Guide Here:

The short version is to run the installer.  

Then choose "Customize" instead of "Install Now".  

Then deselect everything that's not "Office Tools" > "Microsoft Office Picture Manager"

Hey John,

You are correct that Office Picture Manager was removed from the suite. Inside programs such as PowerPoint and Word there are still editing tools. You also have Windows Live Photo Gallery which I feel is a much more program specific picture editing tool. Hopefully the small change does not effect your trial of the Next Microsoft Office.

    This is one more nail in the coffin of MS.

    Every time I get a new computer it takes several DAYS to configure it, whereas with a MAC they just switch over your new computer in house.

    Windows 8 was a pile of .... so I paid the techie to get rid of it and put 7 back on, and then of course you buy the new software and get LESS features.

    It's not surprising Mac are getting more and more popular.

    So WHERE can we buy an app that does what MS Picture Manager did ?

    There are a lot of people who are NOT power users of any sort, but hey, guess what those of us who ARE power users of tools on the Windows platform not only make the $$$/hr td903 doesn't we are not 'stuck in a rut' either. We use the various built in tools to their 'formerly' full-bodied potential. There was no reason to take away functionality that was WORKING. I suppose MS thinks they will replace such functionality with 'other apps' so they can pretend they can compete with android apps or apple apps (for the mobile markets), but it is only pretense. MS simply loses our business. TIME IS MONEY and I make 200 bucks an hour so stopping by here to post a rant just cost me 22.95, but hey, once in a while it's worth it (since the gun range is so far away) and angst MUST be relieved.
