What replaces office picture manager in office 2013?

The Office Picture Manager has been a very quick and easy tool to use, built into Office and readily available no matter what machine I have to use.  I would rather not have to install 3rd party software to do what MS has made easy to do in the past.

Any word on what this app is called now and where it's hidden in the Office 2013 install?

The best workaround I've found is to use the free SharePoint Designer 2010 to bootstrap the MS Office Picture Manager.

You can get the SharePoint Installer from this post:

The short version is to run the installer.  

Then choose "Customize" instead of "Install Now".  

Then deselect everything that's not "Office Tools" > "Microsoft Office Picture Manager"

Hey John,

You are correct that Office Picture Manager was removed from the suite. Inside programs such as PowerPoint and Word there are still editing tools. You also have Windows Live Photo Gallery which I feel is a much more program specific picture editing tool. Hopefully the small change does not effect your trial of the Next Microsoft Office.

    I couldn't agree more with you. Picture manager was perfect for quick picture edit, compress and mail. Not having such a tool in the new office 2013 leaves a huge void!!!

    I am so convinced that Microsoft could care less about their customers .... and could care less about what we say... did you ever notice that if you go to task manager in Windows 8 that you will always have the internet w/ Microsoft Office.com properties open (opens at start and can't run Windows 8 without being connected to Microsoft - also your web cam and mic are turned on and stay on and run in the background (you do have the option to turn them off... but he "computer" - ie MS has full control to turn them back on.  Talk about privacy.  Big Brother is here ...  1984- Hello... lol... but really... not saying the give a darn about us as individuals or that they are spying on me or us in general... but they sure as heck have the capability to as soon as our pc is turned on and connected to the internet... or maybe they can connect us themselves.  lol.. who really knows but go to task manager and look at what runs in background.  Wished that the software we were all missing was there instead... sorry for all the lol's... this is not funny but had to lighten it up if I could cause I'm so darn mad... and in too much physical pain to keep typing or to be eloquent with my words as I used to be (I'm severly disabled and just had 2 major surgeries ... but still have my brain!!!) ... but you get the point.  Wish I had the $ to BUY APPLE products only... next time and from here on out... NO MORE Microsoft Products of ANY KIND!!!!  We made them and we gave them the control... time to take it back.  What is it ... ???  Lynx??  Maybe there are other options... if you know of any other tech options to move forward with that are not related to MS, please respond.   Thanks

    Robert,  Thanks for the non-answer.  And this is not a "small change" for those that use this program.  You can see by all of the replies in this thread that its users are going to go find that program another way, and they resent Microsoft's efforts to push them into programs they do not want. 

    And Microsoft can hope all it likes, but this will definitely affect my consideration of any Microsoft product in the future.  In addition to this mistake, Microsoft also ruined the Photo Importer functionality in the release of Windows 7 (I will never be moving to the disaster called Windows 8). 

    The loss of Picture Manger is just one small reason I am returning to Office 2010 on both of my machines.  I was very happy with that upgrade over previous versions.  I have yet to notice a single improvement in Office 2013, but have notice several things that I do not like.   I only wish Microsoft paid any attention to these complaints, but it seems like they just do not care about their users' experience.
