What replaces office picture manager in office 2013?

Carification to my post above... Sorry.. in my post above I said that the reply quoted was from MS, but I was mistakent .. it was not from a MS "official" but... the MS "Officials'" response was basically the same... Just didn't want to even appear to go give incorrect info... so my apology.

I truly do not mean to be the bad guy here.  And the MS Tech responding is giving you the only option he can give you.  I am here to tell you to read the other posts.  I was a MS Software Instructor at one time.  Several years ago I was director of IT Operations for a medium sized international company...  I love new software and am not afraid of it or frustrated by it... .HOWEVER....  Windows Live Photo Gallery is substandard... there are many many things that users of MS Picture Manager just know.... you can't save "down" - How about save as?  I have been the biggest lover of MS but where 2013 gives you some options that you did not have in earlier versions....  I would pay 2x what I paid for Office 13 just to have MS Office 2007 back!!  HONESTLY.. and I am now very ill and have very little money....  Also, I've been begging for someone to tell me how to download MS Picture Manager for Windows 8 w/ Office 13 ..  it took about 2 weeks and finally... someone emailed me how to down load it.  I downloaded MS Picture Manager last night...  I've been using it happily all day! (when I downloaded it it did not say compatible w/ Windows 8 but I didn't care... I tried it and it worked!! Sooooo.... I'm taking the chance of getting kicked off of the forum and I'm giving it to you!!  Like someone did for me!!!! (BTW - if you are on a trial... OMG Pass on 2013 - go for 2010 on disc) but...

You can download the all options or just MS Picture Manager... you have to search for it under the drop downs... I downloaded the full version and then went to the folder where it was downloaded

• and went and found MS Picture Manager and pined it to my task bar and window.... the I made it the default for all my jpg and several other file types....  it is working great.

The email before that was from Microsoft... my email was A Plea For Help and this is what they sent me:

I just copied and paste MS Office's reply to me.. they lied!!  So Good luck and keep asking for what you need... it took me 2 weeks but I got it!

Sorry MS techs... but I'm so mad it takes me 2x longer to work in windows / / office 13 .... so mad about all of the options you took away... I just don't believe the decision makers really use the product.... NOT END USER ERROR... I DO KNOW how to use your software.... it just BAD.  MS going the way of the blackberry!!

The Office Picture Manager has been a very quick and easy tool to use, built into Office and readily available no matter what machine I have to use.  I would rather not have to install 3rd party software to do what MS has made easy to do in the past.

Any word on what this app is called now and where it's hidden in the Office 2013 install?

Hey John,

You are correct that Office Picture Manager was removed from the suite. Inside programs such as PowerPoint and Word there are still editing tools. You also have Windows Live Photo Gallery which I feel is a much more program specific picture editing tool. Hopefully the small change does not effect your trial of the Next Microsoft Office.

Windows Live Photo Gallery can't compress the size of any photo. just cropping only.

Forget you Microsoft.  This (among other factors) will definitely effect my willingness to try the next Office.   Luckily, I only paid $9.95 for my HUP version of Office 2013, so I am ditching that and going back to 2010.  Office 2010 was a great upgrade from previous versions, but 2013 was a step backward for me.
