What replaces office picture manager in office 2013?

The Office Picture Manager has been a very quick and easy tool to use, built into Office and readily available no matter what machine I have to use. I would rather not have to install 3rd party software to do what MS has made easy to do in the past.

Any word on what this app is called now and where it's hidden in the Office 2013 install?

The best workaround I've found is to use the free SharePoint Designer 2010 to bootstrap the MS Office Picture Manager.

You can get the SharePoint Installer from this post:

The short version is to run the installer.

Then choose "Customize" instead of "Install Now".

Then deselect everything that's not "Office Tools" > "Microsoft Office Picture Manager"

Hey John,

You are correct that Office Picture Manager was removed from the suite. Inside programs such as PowerPoint and Word there are still editing tools. You also have Windows Live Photo Gallery which I feel is a much more program specific picture editing tool. Hopefully the small change does not effect your trial of the Next Microsoft Office.

NataliKosenKova- You do not sound silly at all!!!!! MS 13 is the absolutely biggest scam ever put out by MS. If you ask me, MS is going the way of the blackberry!! I am so angry .... I just don't have the tools I need in Office 13 and it takes 2x as long to do anything - not end user error - I know how to use the software - YOU ARE RIGHT - not broke, just bad roll-out - and no fixes..... BUTTTT>.... I have a present for you

I did find someone to tell me how to get MS Picture Manager w/ Office 13 - it took me 2 weeks of sending out "pleas" ... but here is the link and info.

You can download the all options or just MS Picture Manager... you have to search for it under the drop downs... if you only want to install MS Picture manager, but I downloaded the full version and then once downloaded, went to the folder where it was downloaded - and went and found MS Picture Manager and pined it to my task bar and window.... then I made it the default for all my jpg and several other photo file types.... it is working great. = now all photos open w/ the REAL version of MS Office Picture Manager -

I hope this helps. - MS will not tell you about this...they want us to use nothing but their products that connect directly to your email address... you are always longed in w/ your email address .. look at the top right corner of MS Word in 13... will say -"your name" -is signed in" - and if you are not connected to the internet.... at some point you will be, and they can capture any info from what you have created from any file - that is why they came out w/ ******@Outlook.com - free email adress offers... just like google did.....

and they are pulling MS 2010 from all the stores.!! So get it while you can... Soon, you will only be able to buy MS 13 honorably, or resort to buying a functional version of office from craigslist....

So angry that I spent all that $.... and angry that you and so many other people had to do the same thing... times are tough and MS sure cost people $ - they should be ashamed of themselves.

Kmadley you are absolutely right. I have a free trial of Microsoft Office 2013 with a Microsoft Office 365 online subscription (Thanks to Microsoft Expert Zone) I have a version of Microsoft Office 2010 that I previously bought. I just had to install MS Office 2010 just to use picture manager. I am trying to use PICTURE MANAGER to format my pictures to send them in an email. I don't need my picture in Ms Word or Power Point, I need them on GMAIL!

I feel that Microsoft has been making bad decisions but this is one of the worst! If it is not broke don't fix it!!!!!!

Now I have to have 2 office suites on my PC just because the newest suite lacks the features I need. That sounds idiotic, good thing I have a 2TB hard drive or else I would have been pissed.

Microsoft has already messed up with Windows 8 and 8.1. Now I am finding little mistakes here and there on Ms Office that are just making me wanna pull my hair out.

MICROSOFT GET YOUR STUFF TOGETHER PLEASE, I DON'T WANT TO USE OTHER COMPANIES I WANT TO USE MICROSOFT!!!!
