What replaces office picture manager in office 2013?

The Office Picture Manager has been a very quick and easy tool to use, built into Office and readily available no matter what machine I have to use.  I would rather not have to install 3rd party software to do what MS has made easy to do in the past.

Any word on what this app is called now and where it's hidden in the Office 2013 install?

The best workaround I've found is to use the free SharePoint Designer 2010 to bootstrap the MS Office Picture Manager.

You can get the SharePoint Installer from this post:

The short version is to run the installer.  

Then choose "Customize" instead of "Install Now".  

Then deselect everything that's not "Office Tools" > "Microsoft Office Picture Manager"

Hey John,

You are correct that Office Picture Manager was removed from the suite. Inside programs such as PowerPoint and Word there are still editing tools. You also have Windows Live Photo Gallery which I feel is a much more program specific picture editing tool. Hopefully the small change does not effect your trial of the Next Microsoft Office.

    Hi my friends, no need to be panic. You can install Office Picture Manager from any previous Office installation CD. Just use CUSTOM option installation, disable all other applications except the picture manager. That's it, pretty simple and straightforward.

    Pretty simple for one user, a waste of time if you have 3 000 users spread across 14 offices in 13 different countries!

    Hi my friends, no need to be panic. You can install Office Picture Manager from any previous Office installation CD. Just use CUSTOM option installation, disable all other applications except the picture manager. That's it, pretty simple and straightforward. Thank you, yes I have done this with the easy steps that were listed earlier... and it works... I had had the tec from Microsoft work for 4 evenings (many hours each night) fixing windows errors on my spanking new lap top and then re-installing the 365 program.... yes I too am pissed with the no physical download so it is **** to load system.... and after all that ... when I had explicitly requested that I have the picture manager installed on the laptop {It was mysteriously not there} ..... but now I have re-installed the part required from my 2003 program with the valid code.... so I'm good to go again... and saved the instructions in-case I need to have a tech fix the MICROSOFT / WINDOWS errors again... I STILL Have issues with Excel and Word not responding ..... then after a while it goes again and we continue on..... YES if it works it seems that we need to have it removed.... after all why have a program that actually works.... it is like all the choices we have to make just to use a simple word document ... first you have to choose a format style... how about just start with a basic load then if you need more THEN pull down the format page and choose something!!! or the function bar... soooo much choice that it takes forever to find the simple choice.... you can not (or at least I have not found a place to set this... what you want to have set out that you use all the time... not a supper 1000 choice thing to got through... one button... set-up... easy peasy.... not all this garbly goop! I just want to type a note... not every time design a book! AND the save feature... always having to step off the cloud to my computer only.... HATE THE CLOUD DON't WANT TO USE THE CLOUD!!!!! LET ME BYPASS all the time... why can't we set to our preferences NOT YOURS!!!!! ?????????? Do you listen????? NOOOOOOOO!!!!! After all you know so much better about what we are doing on our computer than we do! I am as savy as I want to be!!!! check out my website! I have 5000 people a month walk through a little farm website... I sell sheep and dogs... I mus tbe doing something right... enough to know what I need to ... to work on my computer and send an email.... DON't get me started on the new format of Yahoo.... it is going the way of the windows and Microsoft... changing to something other than them at first opportunity!!!! Who thinks up these changes... they make life much more complicated not easier and user friendly! NOT SOLD! CHANGING Companies in future...won't buy any more products from them!   Lorna
