What replaces office picture manager in office 2013?

The Office Picture Manager has been a very quick and easy tool to use, built into Office and readily available no matter what machine I have to use.  I would rather not have to install 3rd party software to do what MS has made easy to do in the past.

Any word on what this app is called now and where it's hidden in the Office 2013 install?

The best workaround I've found is to use the free SharePoint Designer 2010 to bootstrap the MS Office Picture Manager.

You can get the SharePoint Installer from this post:

Then, for more detailed instructions, you can follow the Guide Here:

The short version is to run the installer.  

Then choose "Customize" instead of "Install Now".  

Then deselect everything that's not "Office Tools" > "Microsoft Office Picture Manager"

Hey John,

You are correct that Office Picture Manager was removed from the suite. Inside programs such as PowerPoint and Word there are still editing tools. You also have Windows Live Photo Gallery which I feel is a much more program specific picture editing tool. Hopefully the small change does not effect your trial of the Next Microsoft Office.

    This is one also goes on the list of stupidest things Microsoft has ever done. Picture Manager was probably the software that I used the most in the entire Microsoft Office Suite? I cannot conceive any rationale for a such an imbecile decision.

    If you look back in the thread of this conversation there is a really good description of steps to reload an older version with just having the picture manager loaded and not the rest of the programs... very handy!  If you have an old loading disc with a reg-code that you can use this is the best answer.

    I too used Picture Manager for 95% of my photo editing and it was great.  I have very little need to edit from within Word or Power Point.  I have just upgraded from Windows XP  to Windows 8 instead of the alternative I investigated of  changing over to Apple and it was a mistake.  An even bigger mistake was accepting the 'free' upgrade to Windows 8.1 which crashed my system with the loss of all screens.  I had to pay for the removal of 8.1 and start the reload of Windows 8 from scratch - this was not free.

    Windows 8 may have some improvements but I have not yet found them and will be now looking to Apple and accepting its constraints as a compromise for the increasing lack of reliability and loss of functionality that MS is introducing.

    Can I please at least have the Picture Manager returned.
