What replaces office picture manager in office 2013?

The Office Picture Manager has been a very quick and easy tool to use, built into Office and readily available no matter what machine I have to use.  I would rather not have to install 3rd party software to do what MS has made easy to do in the past.

Any word on what this app is called now and where it's hidden in the Office 2013 install?

The best workaround I've found is to use the free SharePoint Designer 2010 to bootstrap the MS Office Picture Manager.

You can get the SharePoint Installer from this post:

The short version is to run the installer.  

Then choose "Customize" instead of "Install Now".  

Then deselect everything that's not "Office Tools" > "Microsoft Office Picture Manager"

Hey John,

You are correct that Office Picture Manager was removed from the suite. Inside programs such as PowerPoint and Word there are still editing tools. You also have Windows Live Photo Gallery which I feel is a much more program specific picture editing tool. Hopefully the small change does not effect your trial of the Next Microsoft Office.

    Yet another asinine decision.   "What were they thinking?"  I guess the 20' something engineers that designed this crapola version are using Google Picassa for default editing and thought no one would notice.  How do you charge more for something and call it a "new improved" version when you take out a lot of functionality?  Only Microsoft can get away with it.  BTW don't try to connect to Exchange 2003 server with Office 2013.  It is intentionally "broken by design".

    You might want to invest in a $39 battery backup (UPS).  I wouldn't run a computer without one.    

           

    ........, but every time any installation I have running has a power failure, it corrupts, cannot repair it, and has to be completely re-installed. So I have to make sure I have a daily backup or else I have to reinstall Windows 8 every time.

    Totally agree this is a another bad decision by Microsoft.  One more reason to look for alternative solutions.  To have Office Pro and NOT have a picture mgr built in ?

    Sure makes you wonder who's in charge of these stupid decisions.

    Just tried Photo Gallery and it's not even close to the simplicity of Picture Mgr.
