What replaces office picture manager in office 2013?

The Office Picture Manager has been a very quick and easy tool to use, built into Office and readily available no matter what machine I have to use. I would rather not have to install 3rd party software to do what MS has made easy to do in the past.

Any word on what this app is called now and where it's hidden in the Office 2013 install?

The best workaround I've found is to use the free SharePoint Designer 2010 to bootstrap the MS Office Picture Manager.

The short version is to run the installer.

Then choose "Customize" instead of "Install Now".

Then deselect everything that's not "Office Tools" > "Microsoft Office Picture Manager"

Hey John,

You are correct that Office Picture Manager was removed from the suite. Inside programs such as PowerPoint and Word there are still editing tools. You also have Windows Live Photo Gallery which I feel is a much more program specific picture editing tool. Hopefully the small change does not effect your trial of the Next Microsoft Office.

Microsoft should stop playing with visuals and stick to function. MS Picture Manager was wholly adequate as was the remainder of the Office Suite. The bland face of Word and Excel now needs individual manipulation to provide identifiable location due to menu configuration and font style and size. Word actually does not accept v7 files without complaint and an offer to arrange slight format changes. - Look out for your '93 records!

It would have been nice if they offered a direct link and explanation to get to whatever the new picture programme matches up, but NO, leave it to the guys on the Internet, they are much more help than the F1 queries in "MS Office Suite"

Open Office is becoming a more suitable package - perhaps the future will lie with Mac.

Good luck with that Abdalla. I tried it and it is too messy and not user friendly

IMO.

I downloaded the MS share 2010 but have just run the MS compatibility as Pic manager

was not working properly to find it is incompatible with Windows 8! So back to the

drawing board.

Like GustavoAMH I too will not renew Office when my subscription is up.

Hi Edith, I'm using it on my ultrabook with Windows 8 (not 8.1) and it is working just fine for me. I installed it three months ago from the Sharepoint 2010 download. Previously I had used my Office 2010 Business Edition to install just the picture manager ... again it was Windows 8 on this same ultrabook.
